Just the Respironics machine...ResMed's it doesn't matter as you still get the FL graph in cpap mode. Don't know about the other brands.
I often wondered why Respironics turned off FL flagging in cpap mode...FLs are very important and a critical part of the auto adjusting algorithm.
I get that cpap can't adjust but knowing if the FLs were happening might be important. I figure if FLs weren't important then why does the apap try to kill them with more pressure.
IMHO someone didn't think things through very good when they turned off the FL flags in fixed mode (they do it on fixed bilevel also).
It would be real simple I would think to at least have the flagging turned off so a person could see if they were happening even if cpap mode won't try to kill them.

Here is a night with pressure of 4. Woke several times through the night. Not the best night sleep, but it's only one night. Not enough time to make a good decision. AHI was 5.79
I think what the data is telling me is that I still have mild apnea. I probably should do another night or two at pressure of 4 to collect some more data. Also I'll need to turn the pressure back up and treat the apnea. Then try some nights with and without the machine and compare how I feel. Sound righ

I haven't read your thread. Clearly you need more pressure. No need to get more data at 4.

At the pressure of 4...still mild apnea.

I would want a couple more nights just for verification and if it holds the same...maybe re do the test 4 months down the road so that the trauma to the neck from the tumor removal as ample opportunity to go away just on the off chance that some residual trauma/swelling to the throat area is impacting things.

Without cpap to see how you feel? That's up to you depending on how consistent your are seeing AHI of 5 ish with this minimum pressure.
Maybe later after 3 or 4 months and all the swelling and healing is over and done with.
There is still some therapy value to the 4 cm so we don't know for sure how many apnea events you might have had without cpap and we have no way to tell without a real sleep study. So if you go without cpap....would your AHI still be 5 ish? Or would it be a lot more?
If it's still 5 ish then you are borderline needing the cpap in terms of AHI and where docs would probably add "clinical correlation" into the summary. Meaning if you felt great and on top of the world with AHI of 5ish...maybe not do anything about it but if you still felt like crap then obviously try to do something about it.

Sounds like good advise. Thank you.

Couple more nights at pressure of 4. Not sleeping as well, waking more often, not feeling so good in morning, pretty tired overall. Turning the pressure back up tonight. Still have apnea, what a bummer. At least we have it under control now.
