I am using a climate line hose, now I understand why I don't see the tube setting.
The Buzzing noise is so loud that it even bothers my wife. The buzzing noise is strange some nights it's louder and worse than others. Last night it was really loud and my wife asked me to not sleep with the machine because she coudln't take the buzzing.
I got the new machine in November and I have dealt with it for two months.
Does anyone happen to have any ideas how to get rid of the buzzing noise. I can't believe resmed has a machine with this defect and I am at my wits end. I must use the machine 4 hours a night to comply with the insurance and have them pay for it.
If there is no way to get rid of the buzzing then I am calling Apria to replace the machine.

Call your supplier and tell them you have a noisy lemon. It happens. Not common but it happens.
When a spouse hears unacceptable machine noises there’s something wrong with the machine and you can’t fix it. Spouses shouldn’t be hearing anything related to machine noise.

Reading this thread I've got exactly the problem. The concern that my first machine did this, it's was replaced, the second machine does the same, unfortunately I've given up the fight and just accepting that this is the machine Noise under normal operation.
Sadly this inhaling whinning anoys my wife too
Very sad.

I was told the whining sound which I also have with my machine at 5000 hours is the blower starting to go...

I have now had two Resmed 10 Airsense machines and both of them make the same wheezing sound described by others. The medical supply offered to give me a third and I declined. I am back to using my Resmed S9 unit and am returning the new machine back to the supplier. One of the Med supplier reps noted that the Resmed 10 model does make the wheezing sound on inhale and that she could not understand why the Airsense wouldn’t be quieter since it is technologically advanced? My wife couldn’t sleep hearing this sound, she was agitated by it and I found myself trying to adjust my breathing to help her and this turned into a much bigger problem than I anticipated. My pressure was set at 13 via my sleep study and was just hoping to get a new and quieter machine. Resmed needs to hear these complaints and needs to do something to correct the problem.

It’s 3:30am in Los Angeles and I too have a wheezy whale ResMed AirSence 10 APAP Machine. This is day one for me with this machine with over 10 years on the AirMed S9 which I love and thankfully still have operating to revert back to.
I’m hoping this is a bad unit and not the AirSence10’s base operating volume. The machine shouldn’t be making a wheeze every time I breathe. Ridiculous! Back to my provider it’s going tomorrow.

Intro: Had the Resmed S9 for 10yrs (?) and loved it, but it's going. Switched to Airsense 10 in Dec 17 and in 3 months I have tried 3 of them, all faulty. Machine whine noise! Well, the third one has been sent away to be checked for faults. I have had nothing but trouble with this version. Looks like a fourth try is not an option, Resmed will refund my money and write me off.
Note I have air leak problems, full face mask... seems the new machine is too sensitive for me.
You can reduce noise in the following ways: switch off EPR, switch off SmartStart, make sure hose setting standard/slimline is correct. For whistling check connections, and if it's water it'll clear after 10mins or so.
If machine sounds like a vacuum cleaner (my first try, both blower and motor were bust) then clearly, you have a lemon. But I'm finding with Airsense 10 there's whining and it's coming up the hose so earplugs won't keep the noise out. Oh, I sleep with earplugs, my home has noise issues. Anyway, too much noise for me to sleep.

, switch off SmartStart,
Smartstart has nothing to do with it.

I had a quiet machine for years, and it started wheezing yesterday. I was annoyed it was not letting me fall asleep so I tried some percussive maintenance, before I remembered that I had "washed" the humidifier because I forgot to fill it and running it dry gets it ganky. When you open up the humidifier, there's a silicone based seal between the top and the bottom. If that seal is not set correctly, air leaks out and causes that wheezing. Open up the humidifier, jiggle it a bit, make sure the bit over the vent hole on the inside is seated properly and then try again. This fix worked for me.

I'm also now hearing my own breathing from the device after a year or so not hearing a thing ?
Either my hearing is getting better? or more likely something has change on my Airsence 10.
What is the Tube setting on the ClimateLineAir hose supposed to be Standard or slimline ?
Thanks
Edit: Made the mistake of checking the Tube setting without the ClimateLineAir plugged in "doh"
Okie bipap is 100% correct

With the climateline hose, the machine will recognize it when you plug it in and automatically make any necessary adjustments.

As it did for me as well, at 2 in the morning, after several hours of it driving me nuts. I was having visions of the unit’s impending failure and getting ready to dig out my old S9.
So thank you for the very valuable tip - worked like a charm.
Now to try and get back to sleep...

My AirSense 10 just started making this noise last night, extremely noisy, keeping both my wife and I awake. (Which is why I searched for and found this thread.) As I looked through the different items, and tried setting it lower, I noticed it was much noisier on the nightstand. In hindsight, we just got new nightstands, and the new nightstand is resonant at just the right frequency and was acting as a sounding board and amplifying the sound significantly. Placing a towel under the unit helped significantly. I may still set it on a lower platform, (on the floor/carpet helped too, but I don't want it drawing in all that dust,) but I thought I'd share that discovery, in hopes that it maybe helps someone else. Good luck!

I have placed a thick mouse pad under each of our machines. This makes a great vibration barrier between the machine and the shelf it sits on.

I have the same problem, my machine gets very noisy, and prevents me and my partner from sleeping, ironic since the whole point of it is to help you sleep better. I'll call resmed tomorrow to see if there's anything they're willing to do about it
