I checked the US Patent and Trademark office on the status of these two designations:

So, Humidaire is a registered trademark of ResMed and is still live I.e., currently in use.
But, Humidair is not registered trademark of anyone just now. The term did appear in an older trademark which has been abandoned.

Curious that ResMed did not try to protect their intellectual property and the use of HUMIDAIR.

Just saying.

You just might as well have someone in the Resmed legal department up all night.

No punishment meant for the OP. Just guessing at the name until we get more specific info. Discussion took a side road, but when we know the needed model we can point to a solution maybe.

I was just kidding.
I know it is frustrating when people expect us to be psychic.

Just did another search on the Australian Trademark data base and, again, Humidaire is protected and Humidair is not.
http://pericles.ipaustralia.gov.au/atmoss/Falcon.Result
http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe? ... ai0vtk.1.1

It is possible that HumidAir is so close to HumidAire that it cannot be issued a separate tm designation.
That's off in the IP weeds and above my pay grade.

Either it's covered in the fine print; or it's a loophole for knockoff products.
