I would be concerned if it got noisy and it wasn't before. Make sure that you don't have any leaks (which could be the reason). Also, did anything else change (i.e. new mask, new hose, new water tank, new pressure setting, new night table, new bed or pillow, etc.)? BTW, this even includes replacement items that are supposedly identical to the old ones.

My F&P HC-201 CPAP from 1999 was very noisy, but my newer ones (including another F&P) are all very quiet. The joke at the time was that it was stopping my snoring by "making noise so that I wouldn't have to!"

If you get no satisfaction elsewhere, look in the members list up above and PM contact member ‘accurate’, that’s Ian who works at Accurate BioMed, they can fix it and probably have loaners on hand.
or,
http://www.acbio.com/
There's a phone number in the contacts list so you can call if you want.

I have no leaks and have not changed any equipment. I can in fact distinctly hear the noise coming from the blower.

icipher, my PR 60 series was doing the same thing, getting noisier and noisier. I finally called up my DME and told them if sounded like a bearing was going on it. They told me they would check with PR and get back to me, which happened the next day. I was told there was a new machine on the way to me and when I received it I was to box up my old one in the same box and send it off to them. Lucky for me I had my back up machine handy and used it for a couple of days until the new one came in.. Apparently there is a series of PR machines that have a problem and they know all about it, which is why I had no problem with them. The new one is virtually silent and I was really pleased with the manner that they handled it. I think I would pressure your DME since warranty is there for a reason, not for them to ignore you.
Good luck
Nan

When my 16 year old Respironics started sounding like a weed whacker and was so loud it kept me awake even wearing ear plugs, I thought to myself, I wonder if I should start looking for a replacement.

On the serious side I suspected the ball bearing were going and was concerned if it should overheat and cause smoke that it would be a very bad scenario if I was deep in sleep and didn't wake up, and maybe never wake up.

That would be AWESOME!
I'm in NY and you're in NE; it's too far!

DH: OP means "original poster"; in this case, icipher, whose location we do not know.
The machine he needs is an ASV, which are way more costly than our machines.
Having a backup is more difficult for him than for us--
--which begs the question "how is your situation relevant?"
