Ok. So we've gotten to a basket we can compare. Gas. Food. Clothing.

I'll take a peek in the am on how much those have increased.

Deal?

Lemme guess. Something something rigged?

One of the problems is that the gubberment picks and chooses what to use when it figures "inflation" and consumer price indexes. They include some things and exclude others (which may make the number worse)......yeah, it's rigged.

But, many of those things DO fluctuate in price......up, down, all over the place. Many times, it can vary greatly from communities in one area/state to communities in other areas/states. Depends on supply and demand and availability. SOME things still do work in those ways yet......"capitalism".
In areas like "tourist" destinations, the prices of fuel go up in the Summer.......and stay there as long as they can get away with it (I know that first-hand). As far as food goes, we hardly ever buy anything unless it's on sale and then we stock up......and eventually we can buy almost everything that way.
Clothing.......stores would go out of business waiting for my business in that category. My wife on the other hand........
Nah, she's pretty frugal, too.
People just need to find ways of keeping their expenses down in these times.

Den

.
So you choose the categories that you commonly buy. Then we'll see how much they've increased over the past 8 years.

We'll wait...

Ok so inflation is less than 2% a year based on those sources.

What's the point?

Don't forget that wages jumped 3% this year.

Rigged I guess?

Den, have you deleted my post in this thread about the stockmarket being good during the last 5 years?
I am entering some of it again, please don't delete it:

My best choices for mutual funds and their
past 5 years average annual compound returns:

Vanguard Wellington vwelx ..........11.5% (60% value equities, dropped almost 20% in 2008)*
Vanguard STAR vgstx...................10.4%**
Vanguard Wellesley Income vwinx.....8.7% (40% value equities, dropped less than 10% in 2008)**
Vanguard Total Stock Market index vtsmx...16.2% 5 years, 7.5% over the last 25 years*

Question,

If Trump is killed will they continue with Mike Pence or delay the election?

If Trump is killed, Pence is who will be running for president. If Trump is killed after the election, Pence (if Trump had been elected) would be sworn in as the president. Remember when Kennedy was shot, Johnson was sworn in as president on the airplane taking him back to Washington.

Perfect.

SO funny.

IDK? It kinda seems CPAPTALK hasn't been as funny recently?
I think the humor here is almost as strong an asset as the depth of wisdom and good advice.

This post compilation is a total payoff
