<<Well given that great mathematicians are as likely as great artists to have serious mental issues,.....>>
LOL....too funny. Given that in general, mathematicians have a proclivity, if not a necessity to access the more linear left brain hemisphere....and that artists have the proclivity to access the more loosely creative right hemisphere....you'd have to assess whether that three legged stool is canting more left or right in order to gauge its relative "stability", mental or otherwise. <laughing> The third, middle leg would just stand there singing that old song " Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am...stuck in the middle with you".
Not pokin' fun at anyone here, just joining in. My mother had a PHD in Economics and was also a college professor....and was a total math geek back in the late '40's and early '50's. If I asked her how to get to Beth's house she wouldn't guide me to turn left on Main then right on Maple. She'd start off with..."Well, Diva....the shortest distance between two points is....yada yada yada." Aaargh...for the life of me I just do not get higher math, and got tutoring when the veins on Mom's neck started popping during homework time. And yes I opted for Philosophy 150 in college in lieu of anything even remotely resembling math. I'm sooo glad that in my profession (retired) that I never had to see or use an algebraic equation!
**I will learn how to use the emojis and how to quote properly. Eventually, when I have more time.
