Eye strain and other eye problems can result in area 1 pressure , headache, and a feeling of brain fog. Especially if you use computers, ipads, etc. The blue light they emit is very bad for your eyes and use later in the evening can disrupt sleep cycles. Types of vertigo can manifest this way also.

It may be the result of physical/chemical/physiological workings, but it is a subjective 'feeling', not a 'pain'.

It is real. Caused by hormones and chemicals in the brain. Just HOW you experience it is irrelevant. Otherwise all pain, itching, discomfort is also "not real"

Julie wrote:as was already said twice brain fog is NOT a physical symptom.
while brain fog may not be considered "physical" it is indeed a "symptom of sleep apnea". as are poor decision making or making bad choices, and denial. certainly brain fog may be a symptom of something else but it is common in sleep apnea too.
i guess the question then is who is using only brain fog as a symptom to dx sleep apnea?

Black Spinner - you're confusing apples, oranges and my posts... I never said anything wasn't 'real'. Never. Read what I DID say... and don't assume or interpret things to be something else please.

Check out this for how to organize your software reports...there's 3 pages so please read them all.
https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/sleepyhead/shorganize
and this thread for some examples.

Your leaks aren't a problem unless tiny leaks are waking you up..they for sure aren't bad enough to impact therapy effectiveness or the machines ability to do it's job.
Only thing I see that stand out on the report above are the 2 breaks in therapy line early in the night...how many times do you wake up each night and how long are you awake when you do wake up.

How come Brain fog is considered bad, and a BrainStorm is considered to be good and even useful! Jim

After waking up, even with very good AHI, I still have a small headache (area 3, after my ears)
If I don't do exercise to circulate blood enough, but decide to use my brain immediately (read news, email), then the head ache at area 3 is very prominent.
The difficult thing is: I always have to fight with myself in order not to read news or email immediately after waking up. I need a mental discipline to take my arse out of the bed and do the exercise.
Probably, like a research at UCLA (Paul Macey) says: something in my brain causes me the restlessness (high glutamate, low GABA) and it fires up immediately when I wake up.
I'll discuss with my doctor tomorrow.

One more thing: if I sleep shortly (1-2 hour) and wake up (by alarm or some disturbance (noise, ...), then all the feeling of headache is visible in all three areas, but not so painful, only unpleasant.
