I seem to recall reading about a case years ago involving a patient who developed centrals only after his tracheostomy

In his particular case it was somehow associated with him being obese so they called it Obesity Hypoventilation syndrome

Now if memory serves me right he used an asv initially till his body adjusted to the tracheostomy, exercised , lost the weight , weaned himself off the asv and lived a normal life

Unfortunately, that takes MOTIVATION.

OHV and central apnea have nothing to do with each other.

Go see a good ENT physician!

Since you are already under the care of an ENT, you might do well to work WITH him/her.
