do shut up and stop ASS-uming when you know nothing.

stop posting bad advice.

stop posting ignorant crap.

with no data, you're just guessing, and that's stupid, but then, that's what you do.

Wow. I don't know who to listen to anymore after that post. Gee.....

Anyway, I don't know what you mean by "I need to post my 'Sleepyhead' results". What is "Sleepyhead"? I posted all the things I've been able to find on the screen.

So, I could still be having leaks even if my "events" are low and the appears on the 'mask fit' section? And I still could be having leaks if I don't feel air blowing out in any area other than the front?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm trying to learn.

.....And urinating about 3 times a night is definitely an indication that the cpap treatment is NOT working well? Whew................

ignore D.H., he's ignorant but spouts nonsense.

read the first post in the announcements section to learn about sleepyhead and the data your machine may provide.

if you want help here, register for an account, and log in.

the smiley face means that you haven't had more than 30% of the night in excessive leak, so, it doesn't mean much.

you can't feel leaks when you're asleep, unless they wake you up.

that or some other medical condition, like diabetes.

in short, when you have apneas, your blood pressure spikes, and your kidneys produce more urine in an effort to lower the BP.

many people find their nighttime bathroom trips stop immediately when they are properly treated with cpap.

This!
I can almost tell my AHI by the morning volume!

Nocturia is a common symptom of sleep apnea but sleep apnea isn't the only cause for nocturia.
Male of an age where the prostate is troublesome?
Other health issues that cause nocturia?

Some answers to these questions might help us help you.
Pugsy wrote: So you are sleeping around 8 hours....are you waking often during those 8 hours or sleeping soundly?
If waking often...approx how many times and how long does it usually take you to get back to sleep?
If waking often...any idea why? Mask leaks, fit, comfort, just because things are different?
Also, do you take any medications? If so, what?
SleepyHead is software that enables us to see what is happening in more detail. The information on the LCD screen doesn't tell the entire story.
https://sleep.tnet.com/equipment

Leak statistics from the LCD screen....Mr Smiley shows up until you spend 30% or more of the night in large leak territory. So Mr Smiley doesn't really tell the whole story either.
Data is suspect if you are in large leak because the machine could potentially miss events and thus give a falsely low AHI during the time of large leak.

I do doubt that the leaks are bad enough to seriously impact AHI for prolonged periods of time.
I suspect that something else is going on but to have any chance of figuring out what it might be we need to evaluate the software reports first and then if that doesn't show anything we start digging elsewhere for possible reasons as to why you are feeling worse after starting cpap therapy despite getting what should be enough hours of sleep.

And that sounds like a DH observation, from someone who has diabetes and a A1C of 7.8 on 200 units of insulin. Since XPAP treatment success in 2005, went from getting up twice nightly, no longer have to get up nightly at all. I keep water at the bed at night and drink about 16 oz per night, still last the night.

Our you catching the DH posting bug? Jim

That is TREATED diabetes. Untreated is a different story.

And if you're still around Tommie, turn off the ramp, or at least turn the time down to e.g. 5 mins.

Actually it's poorly treated diabetes, but due to underlying conditions, it almost the best I can do. If you can't exercise, you can't burn the fuel, even with insulin. I might be able to get my A1C down to 6.0, where it needs to be, but i'd need to cut out food and just drink water, I think I'd drown. Jim

Hi. Still very tired but gonna keep it up . 8 full nites of sleep. "Events" were in the 0.3 to 0.7 range on 4 nites and in the 1's the other nights. Maybe it'll just take a lot more time before I feel rested? Amara view mask fits nice, no leaks. Emailed my Dr. Hope to hear back. Julie, I took your advice to change ramp from 40 mins to 5 mins. Thank youse.

My doctor emailed me and said a compliance chip would be more revealing. He said to stop by for a compliance download. To bring in the compliance chip to the secretary for download. What will/does this show that might help my continuing fatigue? Isn't compliance just about using cpap "21 days out of 30.... etc"
This as all new to me. Thanks
