Time sure flies when you are having fun.
I guess it was the DreamStation that was released about a year ago.
yup, that was the DS last year.

My apologies for the "typo" and not proof reading before submitting. Since "Fact Checking" is not important, a simple call to ResMed`s Customer Service Center will confirm that the entry level ResMed Air Start 10 CPAP Machine has indeed been dropped from their line up. If the main difference between the ResMed Air- Sense 10 CPAP Machine is the ability to monitor usage with a Micro-Chip Card since they both have Heated Humidifiers and perform equally, unless your Physician or Insurance Company requires proof of compliance, does a 2 decade CPAP user really need that option? I ended up with my first ResMed Air-Sence 10 CPAP Machine through Apria Healthcare since my Insurance Company is picking up the cost minus a small co-pay. As a previous Phillips-Respironics CPAP Machine user starting with the "M" Series followed by their next generation, IHO, I prefer this ResMed Model the best, including their Air Fit P10 Nasal Air Pillow Mask! I still use my trusty dependable Puritan-Bennett tiny Travel CPAP Machine for stowing in my suitcase for trips. I`ll leave your "Forum" to other (experts) to chime in who are ultimately more qualified to provide valuable input. True, the ResMed Air Start 10 does`t have the ability to utilize a "heated" Mask Tube. Think many "heated tubes" are ordered for application in South FL? Maybe an AC (cooled) Tube, but heated?

Think maybe people who don't live in South Florida might want to have a choice as to whether to use a heated hose or not instead of no choice in the matter? These machines go to all sorts of climates and not just to South Florida.
I got no problem with people who don't need a heated hose ...what I have a problem with is the "no choice" in the matter.
Just like I have a problem with the no choice in terms of available data beyond hours of use. It should be there if someone needs it or wants it. Probably not all that important to a cpap veteran of many years but could be extremely important to someone just starting out on this therapy and having problems and with no data available there is no where to look to see what the problem might be.

I don't have a problem with someone buying a basic no frills machine as long as the person is educated and aware of the machines limitations and it doesn't matter to the buyer because they don't need the missing features.
What I have a problem with is DMEs dispensing these basic no frills machines to people new to cpap therapy and not telling people ahead of time exactly what is and is not available on the machine.

so, you allege, after saying that '"fact checking" is not important' you go on to state that the *just introduced* airstart 10 machines have been dropped from the lineup. note that they're listed under the "NEW PRODUCTS" tab on cpap.com, where you linked them from.

*all* machines record compliance data, even the one you're so in love with. (from the description: Compliance Data to SD Card )

I didn't realize these were only sold in south florida. also, strange that cpap.com says " Temperature Range - Optional ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tube: 60 - 80° F (16 - 30° C) " maybe you should fact check THEM.

keep up the "good" work, so far you're batting 1000.

Agreed! CPAP.com or other resellers of this "bare-bones" CPAP Machine should provide a (disclaimer) of the limitations of this device. For my personal use, if I was paying for it "out of pocket" it would suit my needs perfectly. Trashing all ResMed devices as "Bricks" is ridiculous. Every Sleep Lab Study I have completed and there has been plenty, regardless of location, oddly enough all used ResMed CPAP monitoring machines. If their entire line was (crapola) I`m sure they would have switched to Phillips-Respironics or another Manufacturer years ago. Cheers......

Palerider; Take a Xanax and chill out. Obviously all that traffic around Metro Houston has produced "anger-issues' with you. Lets just cut to the chase, Call Res-Med Customer Service and clarify if in fact that the Res-Med Air-Start 10 CPAP Machine has been dropped from its current line of CPAP Machines. Stop beating a dead Horse! Get over it and yourself. Maybe a trip to Austin to savor some genuine good TX BBQ might resolve your frustration. Now put on your (mask) and take a deep breath and Relax! For the record, I have no financial interest in Res-Med and don`t have an intimate love affair with (any) CPAP device.

still batting 1000. if they're not selling the piece of crap anymore, that's great, mighty strange though that they just *started* selling them, which you seem unable to grasp.

Do some more fact finding ... no one said "trashing all Resmed devices as bricks" . The only machines we call "bricks" are those with no or little (hours used) data machines... regardless of manufacture. If you read more on this forum you would find out that many here use Resmed and swear by them. You will also find that those who use Resmed machines are fully data capable units. Most of us want to know "why" our therapy is not going according to plan, using "fully data" capable machines, regardless of brand is the ONLY way to do it.
Reading is a "basic requirement" for those who plan to survive in this world... what happened to you???????
And "cheers" to you too
Nan

Regardless of CPAP.com states, this Res-Med Air-Start 10 CPAP machine has stopped being manufactured and produced.

nothing else you've said has been accurate, why should that be any different.

of *course* they've stopped producing something they just introduced *THIS MONTH*.

hmm, someone else that thinks it's brand new.

I think my initial assessment of your intellectual abilities was spot on.

My apologies to the City of Houston. Give my regards to Garth Farenthold and Louie Gohmert. Both could use a increase in oxygen!
IT's a Great Deal...You should grab it...Maybe take 2....cpap.com would appreciate your business. Now Shut Up!

Gee...... I'm beginning to wonder if phil1336 and D.H. are one and the same . They seem to have the same brain problems with digesting info given to them by members that KNOW about sleep apnea therapy, ((or anything else for that matter))
My Dad used to have an answer for us when we said something really stupid.... "Mouth in motion, mind at stop"
