Great Deal on "New" ResMed Air-Start CPAP with Heated Humid

Post by phil1336 » Sat Sep 24, 2016 3:58 pm

The "Buy" of the decade is now available for those lucky enough to grab this deal on a great CHEAP ResMed AirStart 10 CPAP Machine on CPAP.Com! Its a (new) discontinued Model ResMed dropped that originally sold for $495 which was still cheap and now selling for $350 with Free Shipping. The ResMed Air Start 10 compared to the very similar ResMed Air Sense 10 with heated humidifier. That Unit sells for $750! with almost identical "bells and whistles"! If your purchasing a new or replacement CPAP Unit out of pocket (without) Insurance Grab It! ResMed decided to immediately drop the line to avoid becoming the "cheapest CPAP unit on the market and rather sell its REsMed Air Sense 10 instead. Hurry before you miss out!

I would be wise to check around and make sure that model is a data-capable machine or not... just a word of warning. I'd don't know because I don't keep up with ResMed products on a day to day basis.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

it's not, it's a *new* not discontinued uberbrick.

could be fine for a travel/backup machine.

I spoke with Res Med Headquarters and they told me 2 weeks ago that production on their ResMed Air 19 has been discontinued and the ResMed Air Sense 10 will replace it as the entry level Unit. No moderator here... ..What's a ResMed Air 19?

1) by "micro-chip monitoring," I assume you mean full data capability saved on an SD card. If so, the answer is yes - if you want to know what is going on related to your therapy beyond simply the number of hours used.
2) by "Air Sense 19" (sic) is it possible you are talking about the ResMed S9? If so, it probably has been taken out of production and sales to DMEs. However, many DMEs may well have existing inventory they have yet to sell through. I don't know what the traditional practice is in the channel, but I doubt if the manufacturer takes back unsold inventory when a model changes.
I might refer you to the thread started recently by Pugsy that outlines the many short-comings of the new AirStart series: viewtopic/t113746/Another-ResMed-APAP-b ... eased.html
In addition, Pugsy also responded in another thread with a very succinct outline of the ResMed machines in the AirSense series: viewtopic/t113761/airsense-10-amara-vie ... -said.html - its not that the ResMed AirSense series (including AirCurve) "will replace," but "has replaced" the S9, not just at an entry-level position, but completely.

The point I am attempting to make is that one should, perhaps, check first before walking into a darkened room where ones knowledge is limited and a poor weapon to begin with. Too few arrows in ones quiver offers little hope in assailing forces armed with superior knowledge.

I notice they still have the S9 Autoset (for her) for $419, including the humidifier.
An awesome, full data machine. Why pay more for so much less?

And even for a travel machine I wouldn't get a resmed. It is much harder to run on a battery.

I don't normally chime on on this stuff but this one I just had to say something.

You obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about and I don't know where you came from but you really need to better educate yourself of ResMed cpap machine models..

The AirStart models were just released...about 1 year after the AirSense 10 models (which replaced the S9 models).
The AirStart models are bare bones basic machines...no heated hose....no data beyond hours of use...no frills el cheapo machines which there is a time and place for those machines but they sure as hell aren't "better" than the AirSense 10 machines except for their being cheap in terms of dollars. They are most definitely a step down in all regards and unless someone wants a cheap reliable machine for travel or a second machine for back up and they don't care about data evaluation or a heated hose they are not something I would ever recommend to anyone no matter how cheap they are.

You get what you pay for and there's a reason they are so cheap.

Time sure flies when you are having fun.
I guess it was the DreamStation that was released about a year ago.
