I don't think DH is smart enough to create a second account... it took a while to figure out how to create the first one.... and he's been vomiting up all over the place ever since.

I'd suspect the concern troll contingent though.

It's not nice how people are just making insults because my friend is so uncomfortable with CPAP. I'm very aware how dangerous his non-compliance is, given that I've been using CPAP myself for 17 years (with minimal issues).

He is not overly agile and has the symptoms of catalepsy. I think that this is because of severe untreated sleep apnea, but that's not certain. It is for this reason he fears not being awakened on time and suffocating.

While this is may not be a realistic fear, it is not a completely irrational one either.

simple fact, if your friend doesn't use cpap, he will die.

he'll die if he does use it, just probably not as soon.

perhaps you should look to yourself, and your posts, for the quality of responses you're getting.

He needs to be reassured, not "threatened." Yes, I know that he's under a very real death threat, but I don't think reiterating it is helpful.

Does your Friend Binge Drink until he passes out?
some famous rock stars have died from inhaling their own vomit after they passed out. It's a real threat and using Cpap in that situation could make it worse.
If he does not have these types of issues then he has very little to worry about using Cpap.

I thought I read once of an elderly woman dying in a nursing home suffocating when power went out in a storm and her CPAP machine lost power but just looked today and found an elderly man died when his bipap machine lost power. He does not drink or use drugs. However, he does report the symptoms of catalepsy.

So what? Why doesn't he have a diagnosis vs some criteria found on the internet that probably overlaps lots of other things and may well not include vital stuff he's unaware of (not being a doctor)?

Sounds like your friend is looking for excuses NOT to use the therapy.
His odds are higher of him dying faster if he DOESN'T use it.

That's also a symptom of Sleep Apnea. I had it before I started therapy.......then it went away, along with my daytime sleepiness and other symptoms.
