Of course money is important. Nobody will use it if it costs too much. And any surgery is expensive, so even it the device costs pennies, there is still the installation. We can get good therapy for under $1000.

I am not sure I want a bunch of magnets in my throat next time I walk through airport security.
Better yet, MRI, pacemaker, de-fib, ten's units, ect! Jim

Taking a naive point of view, I could see cpap companies buying up a one-time innovation that would eliminate the need for cpap machines and supplies. After all, cpap machines are expensive, have limited lifetimes, and patients need a new one every 5 years or so. That's an ideal business model with a nice revenue stream given enough users, like changing from buying a suite of office software to renting it.

But then, it's a little hard to talk realistically about this without even a real prototype with trials to point to for feasibility and effectiveness.
