Eventually, similar modes of therapy MAY replace the ones currently used; likely not in our lifetime.
Conspiracy is probably only part of the problem, but I can easily picture it being a factor.
Cost is an influence on treatment availability__invasive procedures will almost always fail that test,
when there are less expensive options. Money also moves research.
The important thing is that we need affordable, EFFECTIVE therapy NOW, and that is cpap.
You may continue to champion your cause; as many may benefit--SOMEDAY.

Money is not important. The most important thing is science. Cassette, CD, flash memory,......... Nothing could stop science.

A noble sentiment but kind of naive when business is being discussed.

Silly boy; MONEY was instrumental in all of those things--and more money was made by them.
The world's most successful countries have viable economic systems--CAPITALISM.
MONEY RULES EVERYTHING.

Excellent idea, always wondered about using ferrous implants and using external rare earth magnets to splint the tongue and airway

I already talked to everyone. You did not mentioned that somebody invented it, a big company owned it, the animal and human study are successful. But they did not published these studies. It is ready to use but they want to sell other devices for more years.

Of course money is important. Nobody will use it if it costs too much. And any surgery is expensive, so even it the device costs pennies, there is still the installation. We can get good therapy for under $1000.

I am not sure I want a bunch of magnets in my throat next time I walk through airport security.

Ferrous implants vs MRI:
My cpap is not a contraindication to MRI.
I had an MRI for CANCER. Many others do every year.
They save many lives, EVERY YEAR.
Any distaste for a mask is far outweighed by my dread of cancer.
This may differ for others. I wish them luck . . .

No product that I could see that maybe might be considered spam and I say maybe because just because a product is offered...doesn't always mean that it warrants spam removal.

Just because something is different from cpap therapy doesn't automatically mean that it is considered spam.

CPAP doesn't always work for some people for whatever reason (valid or not) and for those people it would be nice for them to have an alternative choice...even if it isn't an ideal choice. Some therapy is better than no therapy.

To the good doctor here...you posted in a cpap help forum...people here are going to be using cpap and trying their darndest to help someone who is having problems with cpap to be successful with cpap.
It's what we do here. So your alternative idea to cpap therapy isn't necessarily going to be well received by some people here. There are some people though that like to educate themselves on various alternative ideas out there for the people who simply can't manage cpap therapy just because they want to learn. It may not be something they would ever need or want to do but they like to learn for whatever reason they have.
+101

See YouTube for videos of daredevils tossing metal objects into a decommissioned MRI machine.
SCARY!

Yes I had one last year because of some hip problems I was having. Lots of questions repeated over and over before I was allowed to spend that 1/2 hour not moving.

Why don't you read Dr. Afrashi's OP? You are adding nothing new to the discussion.

afrashi wrote:And a big company that now is the greatest producer of pap therapy devices and etc. has bought the patent years ago by buying the Apneon company.
