Today it seems I may have managed to catch some kind of stomach bug. My question is, do non-breathing related illnesses usually affect your ahi? Not expecting it to, as I am not personally an asthmatic or anything like that, just curious...

It's plausible that any illness that causes discomfort could disrupt your sleep and push your AHI up a bit, but I shouldn't think that it would be that much unless your machine settings are not adequate.

It might, but if does, it is probably from being uncomfortable or restless. Which might mean sleep/wake/junk which is when we are awake or slightly awake, and our breathing is irregular. We can hold our breath as we roll over. Stuff like that. So, a night (or partial night) like that, we tend to ignore it as inaccurate.

I found that minor stomach bugs don't cause problems. But I also found that stupidly lifting a 20 gal mop bucket full of water to dump in the tub and hurting your back DOES... My own fault. Thought about waiting for my son to do it for me, and decided "no, I'll just do it myself real quickly. I knew better, but there's my stubbornness again...good thing I have a heating pad.
