Get over yourself... you have failed to hear anything anyone's said here. We heard your stuff, but had questions and comments, but you didn't respond very meaningfully, so people got a bit testy... maybe it's the heat, but it doesn't hurt to listen to what older members say when newbies come in with Q's that don't have the easy quick answers they want. We actually like being helpful, but within a context we can navigate.

It's astounding that I am simply trying to do a good thing here by writing a book so that more people can learn about sleep apnea. Hopefully this will help some people to live better lives. Maybe it will save a life if someone get treated.

I simply asked for some advice on my book and I was treated like garbage.

I have had sleep apnea for 10 years. I Was diagnosed in 2006 and sleep with the resmed s9 every night. The CPAP has greatly improved my life and I was trying to help others learn about through my book. My book coach suggested that I meet with anyone that I know with sleep apnea which I did and got some good advice. The book coach also suggested that I post on a sleep apnea forum to see if there was any advice that someone may have, which is the reason that I was posting here. I already have most of the book mapped out and have already done half the writing but just wanted to see if anyone had any interesting perspective.

Considering that I am writing the book to help people you could have been nicer. I am spending alot of time on this book and probably won't make anything financially from it because not many people read about sleep apnea. This is not best seller material. But if I could improve someones life or save a litfe through my book then it's worth it.

Unfortunately the people on this forum board are angry people. I am not sure why all of you are so angry. Thanks for nothing all I learned is that CPAP users on this forum are a bunch of miserable angry people.
Why didn't you include some of that information in your first post? And, put your equipment in your profile.
I don't believe I've been hostile to your posts, but if you're going to leave out some of the information, you kind of set yourself up for some of these responses.

But you fail to point out all the obnoxious previous comments before I wrote that.
All in caps has nothing to do with it. Telling people not to respond to your posts is what causes the problem.

Of course it's points back at you, you are the one that initiated the thread and started it by asking a question that could have been legitimate, part of a spam campaign or just someone jerking people around. It happens and people don't necessarily assume the best. This is especially true on boards that deal with medical issues and disorders.

a look inside the person *yourself* to understand why they have received the response they did
it almost seems like you expect
and expect
and expect
people to drop what they are doing to help
after all you are writing a book
i for 1 seriously doubt you are not in this for yourself

How about "The 500 lb. Gorilla in My Parents' Bed"?

Not mine.
The OP went directly to sparring with the more judgemental commenters.

I just decided to write a book about ordering popcorn. Should I start a new thread?

My book coach asked me to post on a forum for opinions.

I posted on two websites that have forums.

The other websites forum that I posted on was helpful, filled with nice people that gave me advice.

However this forum was filled with a boat load of angry people.

What is going on with cpaptalk.com is this the website for angry cpap users? Maybe it is, at least it seems that way, especially compared to the other forum I posted in.

Odd....usually book authors are far more thick-skinned. Much more eloquent, too. Keep yer day job, just in case.

Writers have to deal with criticism, as comedians face hecklers.
Better to know the truth than to proceed on the advice of yes-men,
with the inevitable consequences, for the world to see, and certain ruin.
With skin so thin, one should . . . oh, never mind!
