Re: Overwhelmed - don't understand the data

Card readers are very cheap on amazon - less than $10: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/el ... cs/516872/ This is much better than taking the card to work and having to worry about forgetting it there or losing it. Would be good to have a spare memory card too, while you're at it - just in case. The machine will continue to work without the memory card, but it can't record the detailed data without it.Jane Jetson wrote:Thanks so much. I didn't even know 1 was a goal. My doctor and DME guy just basically told me to use it. It was all about the machine mechanics. No mention of leaking or how to know if I was benefitting. I have been reading all over the this site. Turns out my mac doesn't have an sd card slot. I am taking the card to work tomorrow and hopefully it will fit in my work lap top. If not, I will need to buy an adapter.
I have a new mask which should help stop the leaking. Can't wait to see my results tomorrow morning at the office.
Make sure that the reader that you buy includes the correct size slot for your memory card.
I agree with the comments from others that most people skip the startup ramp once they get used to the machine and the mask. But it you need to use it, then use it - just realize that you don't have to and that you might not get full therapy while it's in use. It's amazing what we can get used to. I have my minimum pressure set to 13 and my max to 20 so as soon as I put on my mask it quickly rises to 13 and that feels very comfortable for me. Others might describe a pressure of 13 as a "hurricane"! LOL
Also, are you using exhalation relief and at what level? Some people find that they don't need the ramp when they use exhalation relief while others just find it more comfortable and use it because they like it. The only way to know is to try all all the different options. But don't feel overwhelmed - people here can help you - just take it step by step.
