So take the noisy POS to the local office and make them trade you the Resmed hose for it.
Don't take no for an answer. Are they the only DME you can use? If not--CHANGE.

Yes this! I got a free humidifier that way. Mine was leaking and I was angry that something I was supposed to use for the rest of my life was only warrantied for 3 months! I made that loud and clear in the waiting room where 6 people were waiting with pricked up ears. They didn't like it and shoved me out the door with a new one.

So you walked in with a bad attitude, blew up in front of everyone, and rushed out the door. Each person in that office and all the people in the waiting room had a big sigh of relief when you shut the door: "Thank God that b*tch is out of here finally!".

**Update**. Received in the mail today my dandy new Resmed Slimline hose. Thank you local Lincare office.
If you have Lincare, and want the Resmed brand slimline hose, get it shipped to you from your local Lincare office, not the distribution center. The Dist Center only ships the generic brand.

LOL I walked in with an attitude that I wasn't going to get screwed again. This is the same bunch that sat across a BIG desk and had me hold up my mask to my face and told me it couldn't possibly leak! The same company that charged well over $2000 for the whole setup. The same company that charged me almost $400 for a mask. The same company that spent 20 minutes of the half hour appointment doing paper work and 10 minutes fitting that same mask and showing me how to use the machine. Oh and when I said it was to big I was told it was the only size they had and it would have to work.
They deserved the attitude. I hope the customers waiting learned a thing or two about how they will be ripped off.
Most DME employees make the worst stereotype used car salesman look like world class honourable good guy types. They at least know what they are selling.

Wait a minute-- you paid $400 for a mask? How did that happen?

Cardsfan wrote:So I ordered my replacement long hose. My DME, Lincare, has previously provided me with Resmed products. I received a slimline hose that was made by AG Industries called Flex light tubing. Obviously not the quality of Resmed. Looks like I'm going to have to call Lincare first thing Monday morning.
Anyone heard of AG Industries? I don't want a knock off brand. It is too stiff and cheap feeling.
That's funny. The ResMed Slimline hoses I receive have packaging kinks in them. I hung two in a closet for two months with small weights on the end. The kinks don't come out and are aggravating when the hose is being used.

Some of the cheaper hoses actually crinkle when flexed.
Try to sleep with that going on.
My Resmed hoses are stiff, but at least they are quiet.
Really soft hoses might not be stable enough for safety;
Or at least the hose makers' lawyers think so.

Canada. We pay a lot more at the DME. They are very prosperous here. I have sent a lot of friends to cpap.com! "OMG even with shipping and the exchange rate it was half the price!" At the moment the exchange rate adds 25% so it is not as great a deal as it was last year.
