I have more than 6. My latest is the F&P Simplus full face mask which is very comfortable and doesn't need to be very tight. Not had any issues with leaking like the rest of them. I also wipe the seal with a wet wipe just before I put it on, this helped my previous masks stay in place much better. I don't think I need to do it with the Simplus though.

Being super claustrophobic, full face masks, any thing that prevents me from taking a fresh breath or air, is out for me. I like nasal pillows, but they leak quite a bit. Any one have a recommendation?

I have tried so many masks over the years that I have been using the machine. I am on number 5 right now. Mostly it was a search for the one that worked best for me. It took awhile for me to learn how to work with the insurance company in order to learn how to have them purchase masks for my M-Series. I am in need of another mask and decided I would see what everyone here has to say about the idea. I have used the Activa for nearly 2 years now, but I don't know if I should buy another one of these or try something else. I don't have any issues overall with the Activa, but I am always looking for methods to make life easier.

Is cpap auction still around?
I thought the manufacturers (Resmed and Respironics) DEMANDED it be stopped.

Yes, Julie; I KNOW it's an old thread.

Nothing is as resilient a old useless outdated poll, and the feeling of camaraderie for noobies knowing they had a chance to vote. I learn so much every weekend from outdated polls. Sure beats reading useful posts, that can help you adapt to sleep apnea treatmect. Jim

No, you're right.......the manufacturers put the kibosh to it.
I think U_B's (almost 2-year-old) post was speaking in a fond manner about CPAPAuction and how financially beneficial it was for many of us.
I picked up four Pro 2 machines through the auction and/or contacts I made through it. Two were virtually unused (and all were "cheap").

Edit: And, since I've already posted to this thread, I'll add that my answer to the poll would be "ONE". The first one I tried and used was the one I've stuck with over the last 10+ years. I've tried a few others, but my UMFF has worked the best.
I have four in size Large and three in size Medium (I can wear both sizes, but the Large works a little better).

I have tried 10.

Philips Respironics ComfortGel nasal mask - 1st month on CPAP, bruised the bridge of my nose
Philips Respironics Optilife nasal pillow - 4 years, started to leak when the chinstrap lost its tension
ResMed Swift FX nasal pillow – used most of the next 3 year
Philips Respironics GoLife for Men nasal pillow - my DME asked me if I wanted to try a new and “better” mask, I used it once and threw it in the trash
Philips Respironics Nuance Pro nasal pillow - first mask I bought completely out of pocket, not good enough seal
Innomed Hybrid full face mask – I used it only once as it not good for side sleeping
ResMed Swift FX Nano nasal mask , for which I bought a new liner from Padacheek, the main pillow fits on my Swift FX straps, it was okay; but even an even better seal is from the
Fisher & Paykel Pilairo Q nasal pillow , which however tore up the underside of my nose. The Pilairo Q has become my mask of choice, even though it leaves me marks on my face that last all day
Circadiance SleepWeaver Advance - most comfortable mask I have used, but too leaky
ResMed Airfit F10 - rocking motion when in use is too leaky, but do use it when I am really congested

The masks I have tried so far are:
..ResMed Quattro FX Full Face
..ResMed Mirage Quattro Full Face
..Fisher & Paykel Forma Full Face
..Philips Respironics ComfortGel Original Nasal
..Philips Respironics Amara Full Face
..Philips Respironics Amara View Full Face

I have had the most success with the Amara View. The least success was with the ComfortGel Original Nasal. I have a slightly deviated septum, am prone to nasal congestion and tend to breathe partially through my mouth. Most of the full face masks leak badly or tear up the bridge of my nose.

I do plan to try one of the hybrid masks such as the Innomed Hybrid Full Face with Nasal Pillows or the ResMed Mirage Liberty Full Face with Nasal Pillows in my quest for the perfect mask. If neither of them prove satisfactory, then I will just stick with the Amara View until something better comes along.

I find the full face masks hurt my nose and face and cannot take my pressure of 12CM.

BUT I still love my Philips FitLife Full face mask.

I think having the mask seal around your face and not on your nose and mouth is much more wearable.

I have been using it for three years.

A lot - more than 10. And had to buy different sizes of the same masks because I can't try them on from where I live. I have as many as 3 of the ones I like the best which are (so far) the AMARA VIEW, AIRFIT P10, GOLIFE for her, and SWIFT FX (both regular and for her).

I am like Guest - I often switch masks each night and sometimes in the middle of the night, but only when my insomnia is bad.

Right now, I am trying to get my hands on a Dreamwear, but I need a small frame. Most come with a medium frame.

The first mask I tried was the Mirage Activa. It turned out to be the perfect mask for most nights because it sticks to your face like it's bolted on. Every other mask I've tried gets knocked out of position too easily. I found the Activa by accident; the first one came with an old S7 that I bought on Craigslist.

I also got an original Mirage Swift with the S7. I bought an Optilife and a Sleepweaver elan while looking for masks for reading in bed and travel. I can't wear the Mirage Swift or the Optilife for more than 2 nights because they both plug up my sinuses. (I would bet that any pillows system would plug my sinuses.) I still use the Optilife for reading in bed and for the occasional night when I fall asleep before I can switch masks. The Sleepweaver elan is the most comfortable mask I've tried but it's too difficult to adjust.

I tried the Mirage Quattro for nights when I'm congested but I could never get the leaks under control. I ended up using a neti pot to rinse my sinuses which usually makes a nasal mask usable. For the occasional night when the neti pot doesn't do the trick (about once a month) I turn up the pressure to break through the congestion.

Can u try different masks

Can you ask to try more masks? When lincare delivered cpap, they just give you thst stuff like they do for the pxygen concentrators. Also you have 2 use the cpap at least 4 hrs a day, or you are charged for it.
