EPR is set at three. It's still annoying, but I think I can handle it except sometimes my ears are popping.

I don't know if it's my anxiety level, but I also feel like I'm not getting enough air and I'm inhaling really hard. Pressure is set to be between 7-15 and I'm watching tv with it on and it's at 7.7. Is this normal?

Good luck with your therapy. You have a big support group here.

You all are so amazing and kind! I can't put into words how much I appreciate the support! Especially because I know that here, a "good night" wish means so much more than it does to most people.

Good night to you all!

you can raise the pressure if you get a manual, but 7 should be plenty, if you don't let yourself get freaked out about it. at 7cm pressure your mask is venting about 6 GALLONS of air per minute, above and beyond what you're breathing... that's lots.

Ok thanks! It is getting easier until I freak out, lol! I'm really glad I decided to wear it for a few hours before trying to sleep. Starting to relax

So I'm starting my second night! Last night I had quite a lot of anxiety and felt like I wasn't getting enough air, but this was before I tried to go to sleep. I spent several hours in bed watching tv with the cpap to tame the anxiety. I checked the mask fit several times and played with the machine doing different things so I would know what to do if I needed to do something during the night.

By the time I was ready to go to sleep I was pretty used to the feel of the air and the resistance from exhaling. I actually decided i HATE the ramp up time and don't think I will use it. My pressures are set between 7-15 and honestly I feel the best, while awake, at 8 or 9. Starting at 4 feels like suffocating. Is that weird?

So I rolled around into every position imaginable and kept testing the mask fit and felt confident by the time I was ready to sleep that I didn't have to readjust completely how I sleep. It did take me a while to fall asleep, but I don't remember waking or even rolling over once after I fell asleep. I kept the mask and machine on for a total of 14 hours and really didn't want to take it off!

I was still wiped out all day, but managed to make it through without a nap. I really wanted a nap, though

So, one night down and starting on night 2!

fairly common, in fact. something the medical community seems ignorant of... but, then, that's why even they typically let you change the ramp time yourself
