My sleep doc said that high altitudes can cause central apneas. He said CO (where we live) is famous for that. We are about a mile high here. That being said I didn't notice much if any difference between summer numbers here in CO and winter numbers in AZ at about 800 ft where we spent winters for many years.

Yes, Albuquerque is the same altitude as Denver. But I don't really have centrals.
