MrGrumpy wrote:Im like, what you DO NEED is real simple.

You need a CPAP machine that will tell you your AHI.
You need a heated humidifer
You need a mask that works for you, the mask part of CPAP therapy is highly individualized
You need a titrated PRESSURE set in that CPAP you own
You need a hose cover so you dont get rainout in the middle of the night
You need a good equipment supplier/DME/online gear supplier...whomever as long as they are reliable and dont rip you and appreciate your business
You need a competent MD sleep specialist to oversee your therapy, and periodically make changes.

Thats ALL YOU NEED! You dont need all this other shit I see people have on here (that I also have or have owned in the past but sold it or have it stashed away somewhere in the closet because I never use it)
This is a valid point.

Geeeez get a life! Work out, lose some weight, socialize offline not online, get a job, get laid, move out of your parent's basement and stop watching re-runs of Star Trek.
Another valid point.....in more instances than many would admit to.

You do realize that a titrated pressure is based on the crappy sleep that one gets in the sleep lab. Most of the time it is at best a shot in the dark. Heated hoses are for comfort and control rainout better than a standard hose and cover. Good suppliers are like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. You'll spend your whole life trying to find one. Competent doctors are few and far between. I think it is about the number one complaint on here.
Thats ALL YOU NEED! You dont need all this other shit I see people have on here (that I also have or have owned in the past but sold it or have it stashed away somewhere in the closet because I never use it)
Yay for you?
If you have high pressures, you might need a bipap, again, why mess with a autobipap? They cost more and just complicate stuff.

If you have real high pressures and have pre-existing stomach problems, or lung disease or something, maybe you WILL need an auto-titrating CPAP or bipap machine. But the odds are, most of us can do fine with a straight CPAP or a straight BiPap.
If you do find a good doctor, then they will want you to have a machine with data so they can see how you are sleeping. Your logic is flawed
A bunch of you are just a bunch of gear heads, nothing else. You enjoy tinkering around with stuff and have no lives offline. Computers, the Internet, TV, IRC, your smartphone and the apps that are on it...wifi CPAP if they have that.

When was the last time any of you ever had any pussy? When was the last time any of you ever worked out at the gym? When was the last time any of you ever could see your feet you are so Goddamned fat? When was the last time any of you took a road trip or stayed OFF your Goddamned computer for more than half a day???

Geeeez get a life! Work out, lose some weight, socialize offline not online, get a job, get laid, move out of your parent's basement and stop watching re-runs of Star Trek.

I mean, do you really NEED ALL THIS STUPID SHIT to treat apnea? No
Yet you spew your vitriol here, completely disregarding your own advice to the masses. Maybe if you weren't so busy trying to be the savior, you would have more time to find the stick that is deeply implanted in your ass. Just shoving your head up there is obviously not working.

and smother for all you're worth???
It’s the smother thing that is resulting in this: I have a fear of big women. Because when I was a child I was very cute. All women came to see me and mom (I started talking fluently in both French and English at 21 months) and they’d pick me up and hug me hard. Of course these big breasted women smothered me all the time. I’ve been told that may be why I don’t like big females! My brother asked me when I was 21 months what the cups were for. I thought hard on this. After he told me he the bra was found it in my mother’s purse; I immediately knew. “It’s to hold the small change and the strap is to wrap it all up”.

Pesser, I can identify with your smothering experience. --But mine was more positive.
I was a tiny child, and my father's Army buddies, cowboys, etc.
seemed driven to pick me up and flip me upside down--just to hear me squeal.
As a result, I have a high tolerance to getting dizzy on carnival rides, and am hard to surprise.

Some of these gals are still around. In their 90s…now. They still remember me and a lot of them still remember making the long trip to our house just to hear me talk. I was so fluent that I had no baby accent at all. Funny how some people just have an urge to feel good. That’s what all of them do now-a-days. They feel good. They tell me stories of my father…still. Wonderful people……..many had a very hard life, but it seems that hardship only made them even more happy when they are getting closer to the end. I hope I can be as good a person as they.

Its been going on since spring 2013 and that dickhead holding himself out as a sleep specialist has done jack shit to fix my non restorative sleep problem. It used to be real good." He told me, "think positive, it will get better." Yeah...Ive heard that one before.

Fucking fed up with these medical people and all this bullshit.
Being that this is an unmoderated forum, what is done when a mentally ill troll continuously mucks it up and scares off people that are in bad need of help with CPAP?
