No you don't, all the information is there for you.

Look for sleepyhead soft ware under "pugsy's tutorial..."

You can also find all the manuals online including the "secret " ones. Seize the power! Pretend you have diabetes and check the air you are breathing!

poorly designed throat, consult the manufacturer.
well, *TECHNICALLY* speaking, his mother would be the manufacturer... so it would depend on the relationship therein...
His mother was limited to the standard components on the self.

You need to ask for a copy of your Sleep Study and your perscription. They are yours and you never know when you will need them. Also that way you can study at your leisure the results rather than getting a 15 min explaination that you forget after you leave the doctors office.

I'd agree with you, except some manufacturers manage to select better components during the assembly process and thus don't end up with as many defects down the road... I still think it's a manufacturers issue, and even if the warranty is expired, that avenue should be explored

His mother only worked on the assy line. The R & D, dept was outsourced. Jim

I have a very strong suspicion that my sleep Apnea was caused by a combination of the following factors:

1) Decades of jaw problems - lockjaw and general TMJ issues since being a teenager
2) Stress - exacerbated the lockjaw as I was apparently grinding my teeth at night
3) Weight - yes, I need to lose the kilos. No excuses
4) Undiagnosed sleep Apnea exacerbating all 3 above

I strongly believe that even as a teenager I was at least on my way to having OSA, and that really my jaw problems should have been a warning or trigger. If that wasn't it, the dark rings under my eyes which I had for the last decade before diagnosis should have been (Doh).

I would be really interested in finding out any correlation between TMJ issues and OSA/SA

That's my 2c worth.

Yes there are. Bad jaw and throat formation go together with OSA but this was not recognized until fairly recently. Old school orthodontics made things worse by removing teeth instead of attempting to make the jaws bigger.

Here's a study "Prevalence of temporomandibular disorders in obstructive sleep apnea patients referred for oral appliance therapy." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19888485

A decade or so ago I wore a plastic mouth thingy the dentist said I needed to bed to keep me from grinding my teeth because my jaw wasn't quite right. I really didn't have sleep problems then, or at least recognize that I had problems. I haven't worn it to bed for years and now I've definitely have SA.

Where are you getting your AHI numbers - the machine or via something like Sleepyhead?

Root cause, reason, trigger points?
Whether or not we know where it came from, it only remains to TREAT it.
Wear your cpap. Get the best mask for your face, and your machine set to best address the apnea.
The past is done. Only the future remains.

No, his mother was only the incubator.

They say the last big software/hardware up grade was some 200,000 years ago. There have been a few apps developed since then - white skin for vitamin D , blue eyes, lactose tolerance, malaria resistance (a bit of a problem there - sickle cell anemia ) but nothing for that side effect to the much earlier upgrade to make it talk. In fact the last upgrade to make the I/O interface more streamlined and attractive made it worse.
Good one!
