This is too cool, GB - is this really from a movie?
"Thunderdome is an arena for steel-cage jousting in the Australian post-apocalyptic film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie. The word is also used to describe a contest where the loser suffers harsh consequences."
The whole gist of Thunderdome is summarized by the following quotes:
Aunty Entity: Welcome, to another edition of Thunderdome!
Master: These our witness, Aunty. Us suffer bad. Want justice. We want Thunderdome!
Aunty Entity:
You know the law: Two men enter, one man leaves.
Master: This Blaster! Twenty men enter, only him leave!
Aunty Entity: Then it's your choice. Thunderdome.
Basically squabbles and disagreements are taken to a cage match where the participants duke it out (fight until there's no more fight left) and the loser is banished.

Julie wrote:Question for the forum - someone has PM'd me suggesting that I somehow embarrassed PEF by writing my note (just above) and asked that I delete my note, and I replied that I didn't see how I could embarrass someone else for what they chose to write. Anyone want to say what they think here?
You are a very bright person and you know
exactly what you just did and why.

All I can say, Julie is that you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. And others are perfectly entitled to agree with you. I guess that is my opinion with regard to people who deliberately pick on other people. It may have been stated a little too strongly, but I think push-back against these forum abusers, like the kind that run Pugsy off, are in order. Those ideas certainly give us some things to think about. But I guess I can certainly understand how some people here would have been offended by what I said. So my apologies go out to those who are offended, but it was not meant that way.
We should remember that "opinion" is JUST opinion. And we are all entitled to our opinions.

Well...since a previous poster said that everyone is entitled to their opinion, here's mine. I think this whole discussion and its proposals are silly. It's going to change nothing regarding how this message board is run. The Goodmans have been running it for almost 12 years without much change. Hiccups like this come around frequently and resolve themselves. Obnoxious posters seem to just disappear. As someone said previously...If you are unhappy with the way this board is run, you are free to leave and get on with your life.

Many members are tougher than that piece of meat, it's the PC ones that are softer than Jello, but even they are hard to swallow. Jim
Don't forget to Brown that meat, that's how you get the flavor, seasoning isn't the whole answer.

And here I am. This thread seems to be going in a productive direction,
but my thought is the less we do or say when feathers are ruffled, the better.
We are here to share and help, not to feed our egos.
Those who still need to do this may need help, but this forum is not a mental health site.
OMG, no. Mental health--here? We are mostly normal; but we have our warts. (Not my fault)

Thanks for your reply, CF.
Do you have an answer for question # 2?

CPAP Privilege - When someone that has better sleep because of appropriate treatment of sleep apnea uses their advantage/knowledge of equipment/insurance to mock, cajole and keep (not all only some of) the untreated/newbies asking for help from having the same advantageous sleep.
The privileged will also scorn, shun and call those that point out the behavior names because it is a threat.
The behavior may not be rudeness; perhaps it is defense of privilege. I also think we all have lives outside of the internet and perhaps the toll of constantly having people want something is just too much sometime.
