Also, for what it's worth, don't say too much about this site or the info I've given you at your first few appointments. Let them do their thing, and get you through their standard operating procedure. It'll get you back on the road sooner.

If after the first week, you get given a fixed-pressure machine, and if you wanted to upgrade to an auto, you can do that anytime in the months ahead. And people here will help you fine-tune it.
Yes I think after my other half contacted them after they said it would be 18
Weeks wait and she told them about needing to drive for my job that they changed there tune. I know for a fact that if I wasn't allowed to drive for another few months that I would defo lose my job I'm just looking forward to the appointment now and getting on with things and the treatment. I won't mention anything I've read on here I'll just let them do their thing. Thanks again guys and gals

Hi guys, well went to the appointment today and got my cpap machine looks like a good one and comes with a humidifier and a new style mask which seems a lot smaller than the other ones I've seen online. Tried the mask and Machine while at the group session and at first I felt a bit panicky as was quite warm in the room we were in and that didn't help but first night with it tonight. I have a cold and a bad cough but going to have a go regardless. I'll let u know how I get on!

that's like saying "it's called vauxhall" when talking about a car...

which resmed? (it'll say on the front lower right, if it's one of the new line)

Good. And you're getting a better start than is standard here in Gloucestershire

As you get used to it, remember any one night isn't a representative sample. Keep going.

Cheers guys. Well went to bed at 11pm and had got used to the mask and airflow and was comfortable but this bloody horrific cough I have on the tail end of this cold keeps waking me up! I was
So happy I was finally dropping off to sleep with the mask on and then bam! Coughing fit and I wake up. Just my luck to have this when I get my machine!! So now just sat watching telly sat upright because
As soon as I lie down the coughing fits start! Must have had about 8 hours sleep in 3 days due to this cough and I've bruised my ribs and pulled a muscle in my stomach from coughing but the pharmacist wouldn't give me anything due to the sleep apnea so doctors gonna ring me in the morning. So frustrated!!

Well that was a complete disaster! Still haven't slept and it's nearly 6am! Due to this cough everytime I'm just about to drop off to sleep I have to sit up and take the mask off for a massive coughing fit. Ringing the docs this morning to see if they can give me anything for the cough.

Yeah I really hope so. I'm down the doctors now so gonna lay it on thick. I suppose it's just one of those things that a cough and cold should come along at the same time as getting the machine, it's very disappointing after waiting 2 months and then this happens. I wouldn't normally be too worried but I'm supposed to be going back to work part time next
Week and If I can't use the machine by then and catch up on some sleep then I'm not
Sure what I'm going to do. Oh well, worse things happen at sea as they say!
