I just wanted to post an update about my husband. He has had a couple more melanomas pop out on his leg but he has had great news on his PET scans. His last scan didn't even show anything on his leg. Now I need to find a home remedy for being a stubborn crusty old fart.   We count our blessings every day.
If you find that one, please PM me.
The bullfrog is incorrigible.

Glad you have some good news Stormy...you certainly deserve it.

And if you ever figure out something to help crusty old farts and grumpy old men to be less grumpy and less crusty ...be sure to let me know.
I have one of those with no patience either...geez..I love him to death but he does try my patience sometimes.

They nearly killed him with the chemo and radiation. They kept it up even after he got the first good report from his PET scan. I think they were using him as a lab rat to see how much he could take.

May I ask how you know it wasn't the chemo or radiotherapy that did the trick?

If they were already talking hospice, they were already pretty sure what they were doing wasn't working, but needed to finish the protocol. Hey, if it appears to be working, don't knock it. My doc said sometimes even placebos work not because they actually work but because people's mental state improves due to their confidence in it. Your mental state can affect your immune system.

Sounds great Stormy! Keep it up. As to the home remedy for crusty old men, I have no recommendations.

It would be great if stuff that's relatively easy to understand, like pH levels of your food and blood, could be the cure to complex disease. When the actual answers are really complicated and take college and post graduate studies to understand, treatments like that in the OP are pretty attractive. They give us something to do, to make us feel empowered. And it seems like you are using it the right way, in conjunction with proven scientific treatment.

The problem with posting "cures" like the one in the OP is that many people use them *instead* of proven scientific treatments, so I'm pretty wary of any posts with any easy to understand and use "cures" for cancer.

In cancer, there is much not understood.
Research is limited to solutions that can offer a return on investment,
because medicine is NOT a nonprofit venture.

My husband was very sick and they gave him 3 to 6 months to live. They waited a couple of months before starting his chemo. He perked up and was back to his old self before he even started the chemo. He did take the chemo and radiation just like the doctor said and it nearly wiped him out. I am not trying to promote a cancer cure to anyone or tell anyone not to take chemo or radiation. I am just talking about my husband's experience. Maybe I should have used a different title for the thread but it was a home remedy so just take it how you want to. Maybe there is someone out there that would benefit from this.

Sometimes the support of loved ones can change the odds.
He is so lucky you are a stubborn old (whatever you call yourself).

Maybe I am a crusty old fart too.   I just wasn't ready to give him up. I have worked very hard and threw more than a few hissy fits to try to keep him healthy. He is still worth keeping in spite of a few little faults.

It is possible that I might have a little fault or two myself but we are talking about him now.
