Go back and read what you wrote. You said:
Lucyhere wrote:It's been found that the majority of people who hang around on help forums long after they have received the information they need, have no understanding that their mentality is that of cult culture and they are identical to the bullies one sees on television or reads about in newspapers. In this case, they use vulgar words and innuendos, instead of guns or knives.

They are the bullies.
You didn't hint or imply MAJORITY, you said it outright. And I'm telling you flat out that is a horrendous misrepresentation of the people on this forum and probably many others. Yes, there are a few that may be brash, abrupt or even mean at times. But most of them are not that way unless someone comes into the forum behaving like a 5-year old, whining and making comments that are insulting to those of us who have suffered, struggled and conquered (ie 'you have no idea what it's like for me!!'). And even then, the MAJORITY of veterans will give them a pass and still try to help them.

There are a ton of veterans here that have done NOTHING untoward and are going above and beyond in other threads for other people. Enchanter, with all due respect, is one of the most challenging posters I've ever seen here so most of the veterans have backed off because they know they cannot help him.

For the record, I take exception to your classification that the MAJORITY of veterans are bullies. And trust me - you did that.

I understand and apologize. Perhaps I should have said "many" instead of majority. I have already made a few phone calls to have the word majority changed to many. Thank you for pointing this out.

Wow, you made phone calls to have it changed? You must be a Very Important Person!

Now, if you wish to merit even a shred of credibility, you'll name the source of this "information" you're quoting (and now having changed!).

Happy to do this for ya, Originally posted 11/08/15 on cpaptalk.com. - two corrections 11/13/15 - no FN for me.

In my years as a journalist I have noted there are those people who are able to speak and write with great ease, class and sophistication; while others toss about curse words and childish cartoons. This is because they have no idea how to create a simple sentence. Their command of (for purposes of this article) the English language, is questionable at best. They have no idea how to express themselves. Being articulate is beyond their understanding or ability. They are the bullies.

To cover up their inadequacies, they attempt to show off by belittling others with childish one-liners; at the same time attempting to solicit followers. They believe themselves to be clever when instead they are cowardly and uncultured, all the while hiding behind a computer screen. People don't generally know one another on internet forums. Who they claim to be and their name is inconsequential. A help forum is to help people. The only thing that needs to be known is the issue that brought them there. Additional information is not needed and serves no purpose. What is crucial is how they address one another; how the question is asked and even more important, the way in which it is answered.

It's been widely noted that many people who hang around on help forums long after they have received the information they need, have no understanding that their mentality is that of cult culture and they are identical to the bullies one sees on television or reads about in newspapers. In this case, they use vulgar words and innuendos, instead of guns or knives. Their aim is to intimidate in the hopes of having people join their cult. Join with them or you might find yourself on the outside, thus becoming the subject of their bullying and intimidation. Many in this cult are unhappy in their everyday lives and find enjoyment in this cult type culture. Interestingly, they know precisely what they want to accomplish and who they want to join forces with them. They are the bullies.

Then there are the others, a/k/a the bullied. Those people generally come (to a forum) with good intentions and get blindsighted. Instead of surveying the atmosphere and opting out, they believe they can fix it, which seldom happens. When they attempt to be civil, they are met with intimidation and tasteless remarks, and the cycle continues until it finally reaches a point of forum hysteria.

This in no way includes those genuine people who remain on forums to pay it forward. The differences between a cult member and someone who remains to pay it forward are immense and almost immediately noticeable. Generally, the pay it forward types do not intimidate or belittle; instead they are welcoming and happy to share the wisdom they possess.

Bullies on the other hand thoroughly enjoy their stay and tend to hang around for years. The internet becomes a best friend and here the bullies find a false sense of power. The internet is where they can lash out and not be found out, which is the primary reason that bullying exists on any forum.

Kaiasgram's opinion is well stated and something to think about:

""In fact I'm convinced that people's staying engaged with him on this forum -- no matter how well intended -- is keeping him distracted and disinclined to seek the help he really needs and which no one here is in a position to provide. I have compassion for his suffering and I feel strongly that the most helpful thing all of us can do at this point is to draw the line, stop responding to all his posts, put an end to these dysfunctional circular dialogues, and hope that he will then turn his attention to getting the appropriate professional (medical and mental health) care."

I snipped the rest of the blather. So it's YOU you're quoting! And you made PHONE CALLS to get the text changed instead of just editing the stupidity yourself?

I'm wondering if there's something seriously wrong with you mentally. You should be embarrassed. How sad and pitiful you are...

Yup -- and I sent it to two newspapers I've written for in the past... oh, and one magazine. Still laughing are ya? How "sad and pitiful" I am - really, have you taken a good look at yourself? *You epitomize the word Bully.* I don't particularly like emojis, but I sure am having a heck of a laugh -- and the last laugh!

In all my years of reading the news, journalism has gradually regressed until the "news" news
cannot be distinguished from the yellow rags of yore.
At one time, I was encouraged to, and even considered it as a career.
I am so glad I decided against it. I am proud of the field I followed,
What I wrote or drew was as truthful and impartial as humanly possible.
Had I chosen journalism, I may have been forced to shoot myself out of shame.

Anyone who writes "for the purpose of this article" when responding to a forum post is so full of shit (and full of themselves) that the majority ,oops, I mean most, of the folks here can smell you coming.

Journalist? Really, lets see something you have had published.

Certainly, and I'll also give you the names of the papers, the date and the page. I'll also include my name.

Cool it already. Don't you agree that the horrific happening in France is enough for today?

YES!!! The horrific happenings in France IS enough for today... and if you would stop answering every post with a snide remark folks could get on with it. Don't you think you have hi-jacked enough threads lately to turn everyone off of YOU. Your true colors have shown up enough already.
Go away and stay away this time, no one needs your sarcasm and stupidity.
