Hey All! Sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for all of your help.

Firstly, to give you a quick update, I did indeed switch from APAP to CPAP at a pressure setting if 12 and am experiencing improved sleep. Wulfman thanks for the pointer here. Unfortunately though, issues remain! I'm starting to realize that CPAP is a relatively long term battle, constantly tweaking in search for a better seal, numbers or just a more refreshed feeling.

My current issue is back to leaks. I switched across to a Resmed Quattro FX and had a decent run, however I'm starting to have more and more leaks. I've only had the mask for just under a month, surely the liner couldn't be wearing out already? The leaks are almost always around my nose, which ends up spraying air into my eyes.Could it be wearing already? If not, any other tips or tricks you could recommend?

This leads me onto another question about sleep positions. One of the key causes of my leaks appears to be the mask moving as it pushes against my pillow (I sleep on my side). One obvious remediation for this would be to sleep on my back. I know this is somewhat of a no-no for apnea sufferers, however I'd guess that if I had the correct pressure this should be able to sleep apnea free on my back? The problem in my case is that my pressure was titrated while on my side and, unsurprisingly, when I attempted to sleep on my back last night the pressure was inadequate and apneas ensued.

On a final note I downloaded sleepy head and have been monitoring progress. Unfortunately it indicates that I frequently rip off my mask (presumably due to leaks) which I hope to remediate soon, otherwise the numbers look pretty good.

Be interested to hear any recommendation you might have for next steps. Thanks again.

Look into a different bed pillow. Do a forum search on "buckwheat" and "Chiroflow" (the pillow listed in my profile), which will take you to some discussions about bed pillows. The problem is that most standard fiberfill pillows allow the head to sink too far into the pillow and push the mask out of alignment.

When I have leaks near my eyes with the quattro fx, it usually means that my mask is too high on my face. Try setting your mask a tad lower on your nose and see if the leaks are fewer. It can be hard to find just the right spot, but once you do, it gets better.

For the pillow and slide sleeping, try having your face at the edge of the pillow with the mask hanging over the side of the pillow. When I first started, I would use my hand to keep the pillow from bumping the mask, but once I got the make fitted well, the edge of the pillow didn't mess with it anymore.

"One other difference was the mask - during my test they used a Resmed Mirage Quattro (the one with the green outline) which I felt gave a slightly better fit with slightly less leaks."

I know this was a slightly older thread, but I have an unused Mirage Quattro mask the one with the green outline around it - its a Large

Let me know.

Thanks all for the responses.

Zoocrewphoto - Whilst I didn't read this thread till this morning, I actually tried this last night and had a much improved sleep! I'll certainly bear this in mind going forward. Thanks for the pointer!

Metafan302 - that's very kind of you to mention. How much would you want for the mask? I've been thinking about giving a large a trial to see if I obtain a better fit than I currently do with a medium.
