I have Aircurve 10 Vauto
Will try leaksense setting
John
Please update your equipment profile.
You won't find a "leaksense" setting, you will find a "leak alarm".

I was having the same issue as the OP and what I did after reading this thread and getting the idea from one of palerider's posst in this topic was I was replaced the air filter (which I think was in a bad position which was apparently causing the issue) with a new one which solved the issue for me.
So if you're reading this and having the same issue as the OP, try simply removing and re-inserting your air filter or (if it's dirty) just replacing it with a new air filter and see if that solves the issue. It fixed the problem for me and saved me the hassle of getting my machine inspected and getting a "loaner" machine from my DME supplier.

That must have been one grody filter!
In the future, please replace a little more often.

I have same cpap. Set 5-20 by doctor. My cpap was (for last 2 years) auto shutting off within seconds of taking off my mask. Few days ago I noticed it was not shutting off at all.
Reading some of this forum someone mentioned swapping out hose. Just did that and problem is fixed. Thanks for who ever gave that recommendation. I hadn’t swapped the hose w my replacement parts.
Out!

good job!
it's nice to know that some folk actually come here to read the forum first, before asking the question.
and thanks for letting us know it worked.

Thank you for the heads-up.
My reserve hose has been sitting in its sealed packaging for at least a year.
Now I know when I probably should change it.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue as the OP on my recently purchased first CPAP.
First I experienced the problem when connecting a heated tube instead of the slimline non-heated tube.
Now the problem (not shutting off) also appeared on slimline. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread with no luck.
Now I found that the problem appears when the small tube on the mask (a N20 nasal) is connected to the main slimline hose.
If I disconnect the small tuble from the main hose and start breathing directly from the hose, the machine starts and when I stop breathing on the hose after 6 seconds it shuts off, but when I reconnect the smaller tube (even without the mask), then it continues blowing even after I removed the tube tip from my lips. If I then disconnect the small tube with the machine blowing, it auto shuts after 6 seconds.
So I assume something is wrong with this small tube, even though it's new (3 weeks of use) and doesnt seem to have any damage.
The solution may be to replace the mask, but not worth just to make the autoshutdown work properly. I'll just wait until I really need to replace it.
Just my 2 cents.
Regards.

The machine has a leak threshold which sets when it thinks you've taken off the mask. The small tube allows enough back pressure so that the machine does not feel you've taken off the mask.
These start/stop features cause more problems than they're worth I feel... just turn them off and use the button, what's so hard?

Given that millions of ResMeds with SmartStart are used every night, and only a few report problems, I fail to see how feel they are more trouble then they are worth.
Add to that, the majority of people experiencing problems, describe their experience as it failing to turn off, your suggestion just tels them to always do what they prefer not to do, and only have to do some of the time.
SmartStart also solves:
- Mobility problems for many
- Allows people to use Maskfit, to dry their hose knowing it will auto shutoff.
For me the only issue with SmartStart was the coupling of Auto Start with Auto Stop on Air10s, resolved with the Air 11s.

I noticed my AC10 auto shutoff didn't work w/ the AirFit P10 nasal pillow mask when using a medium pillow but it works fine when using a large pillow.
Works fine w/ the Brevida mask w/ the M/L pillows.
