don't you have somewhere better to be than trying to arrogantly force this forum into being what YOU think it should be?

what made YOU so special?

maybe next time you swagger into a place, you should learn a bit about it before trying to make it into what you want...

if you did so, you'd come across things like this:
johnnygoodman wrote:My approach to moderating cpaptalk is well known. Here's the basic rational:

Beware the person who wishes to legislate the morality and the behavior of his neighbor. Respect the person who accepts as responsibility, duty and sacred privilege the task of successfully moderating his own behavior. People who can do this are rare beacons of light. It is easy to point the finger "elsewhere" and imagine a utopia will result. It is hard to do the work and take responsibility to make your first utopia internal. Paraphrasing Ghandi - be the change you wish to see in the world.

There are no rules, no distant moderator, no respected member of the community that can legislate or moderate away our own foul dispositions. If this were not true, one of the many forms of government our forefathers have tried would have worked. For another example of the rhetoric used by people who advocate such a position, read literature from those favoring prohibition before its enactment. These people believed sincerely in their cause, they had good intentions and were good people but their actions were doomed to failure from the start.

How does all of that lofty philosophy play out in real life? In the most basic terms,
I'm trading value for value. I provide the domain, the hosting, the software and the moderation of CPAPtalk in accordance with my set of beliefs regarding human nature and business. You may use it free of charge, you may find a better board or you may start your own.

There will be no additional moderators on CPAPtalk. The core values of this board will continue to govern it. Love your neighbor and be a neighbor others can love.
and then you wouldn't waste everybody's time, and stir up shit with your attempts to control things.

if you don't like it here, go find a forum that fits your needs and wants... quit pissing in our pool.

The user's agreement doesn't prohibit posting contact information of competitors. In fact, competitors' names are posted here frequently and competitors are recommended here.

What you fail to understand is that you are collecting enemies and it is probably the case that one of them, not any moderator, deleted your post.

Cardsfan, what this means is it's okay for PR to try to tell you what to do just don't attempt to tell him coz it's "his pool". As in he thinks he owns this place which means he can control it and of course he doesn't but it's PR and he has issues. He used to be on apnea board. Under a different name though. Must have been hard to be there since they would never tolerate his BS.

What I fail to understand is if Cardsfan and Postitnote dislike this forum so much....why are they still here . No matter how hard they try.... they will NOT change this forum............. Goodbye and good luck to both of you.

Right and the rules are for the sole discretion of CPAPtalk to enforce and they have let us know their position several times.
CPAPtalk.com may suspend, deactivate, limit, or cancel our service and user accounts, impede or restrict access to our website, defer, or delete hosted content, and utilize technological methods or legal means to keep users off of CPAPtalk.com, if in our sole discretion, we think that they are causing issues, potential legal liabilities, or are acting in a manner inconsistent with the letter or spirit of our policies and this Agreement. We may do this without limiting other possible remedies. We also have the ability to terminate user accounts that have no activity for a long period of time. (emphasis added)

We have delete buttons. Adults get one when they show mature content in their posts.

Seeing all this fighting and fussing, I am reminded of a post that Julie made, maybe six months ago. Julie was bitterly complaining that every time she tried to help someone, there was Pugsy beating her with a thorough answer to the user's questions and problems.

So that is what I think is happening now. There are many talented people here who want to help, but Pugsy usually beats them to the punch.

Not being able to put their talents to work, these people are frustrated and bored. Frustration and boredom turn into mischief and lashing out at others.

Get rid of Pugsy and the problem is solved. lol
