Great thoughts, Johnny, but I have 2 questions...
Do the 2000+ posts have to be useful???
And do you and your father like home made cookies?

See, Bonnie, you have the right idea, but you're not following through entirely. Yes, a trip to Hawaii to pick out the macadamia nuts, but complete with personal assistant and babysitter/chaperone to watch over his kids so he and his wife could enjoy a really relaxing and romantic vacation is the ticket here.Bonnie wrote:LOL Lori, but the really REAL question is......

But bribery is just so unethical and childish, don't ya think?

Mr. Goodman, what made the review from mikemoran so believeable is that he bought the device.
I, as a new person to CPAP and these boards , have a problem believeing the post from someone who has been given a free sample.
What, for instance, would happen if you gave a free Mirage Swift to someone to review and they came back and posted that it was noisy, leaked, and could not be put together correctly after it was taken apart to be cleaned (my wife's personal review). Do you think Resmed would send you more samples to hand out? I think not. Therefore, your stuck having to give samples to people who will find something good to say, even about a dog of a product. That is not an honest review.
I personally believe the reviews that come from people who have to spend their hard earned money on the product. Then it is real.
Just my opinion.
Does this opinion kill any chance of getting freebees in the future?

Johnny:
Good show. Your integrity has always been apparent.
I believe a rating system is not only fair but allows for a more thorough, objective interpretation of the data.
A rating system like Amazon or ELance is a great way to get a sense of the overall probability of something being a good risk for purchase.
In the case of masks, since it is such an individual experience, there will always be the possibility that one could have a negative experience no matter what the reviews are.
I respect your attempt to achieve objectivity and balance. You are certainly headed in the right direction.
Great job.. thanks for the excellence.

Mr. Goodman,
I applaud your ethics. ideals and long-range goals, and sharing them with us.
I would never ask for something like that from anyone, and am surprised that some do; call me naive.
I find only one fault in your note, and I'm sure it was an arbitrary number that you chose of 2000 entries as a requirement. I would qualify that number (which is quite high for some newer people) by stating that the entries must be pertinent to the original post, or follow the thought process which developed throughout, and NOT bantering and joking, which is good, helps us communicate on a personal level and adds levity at times, but must not be 'counted' in your overall decision-making, which I've just made more difficult, in addition to writing the longest run-on sentence.
You are admired and appreciated. Thank you!

I was thinking along the same lines. Those bantering and joking posts will jack up a persons count in no time. You can see it happening. Good thing is so can Johnny and his crew. They know whats up. I also applaud their ethics, ideals and long-range goals and sharing them with us.Offerocker wrote:I find only one fault in your note, and I'm sure it was an arbitrary number that you chose of 2000 entries as a requirement. I agree with above post, and had also second thoughts:
Gather your own group of individuals whose judgement you know and trust, and have this 'panel' do the evaluations on products. This will:
1. Produce consistent results
2. No need for freebies
3. No unnecessary postings, and would 'relax' the community; we don't want to be in competition with one another, nor 'assume' that others are.
4. You'll know what you're getting, and WHY.

Please........Lori is 3000+ and has given a lot of great, valuable advice in her posts. I'm at 200+ and am NOT posting to reach a certain number to receive free samples. Bantering and joking are a BIG part of OSA treatment and a person's well being in general. If you people take this so serious and think that Johnny and company are actually counting our posts and deciding which are serious enough to count towards a 2000 count, well, let's just say I don't think so.
