Thanks everyone.
Had a busy day. Went and got some strawberries...bought some already picked but felt good enough to pick some myself too.
Then came home and mowed the yard and quite right at dark.

So a busy day and I am tired and I think I will hit the sack early.

Pugsy a belated birthday wish from me. Sorry I missed it. It sounds like strawberries were part of your special day. I am glad you got to get some for your celebration. They are so good when they are that fresh. I can almost smell them in my mind.

I wish you many many more returns on the day.

Karen

Thanks everyone.
I did manage to get some strawberries and I will be heading to the kitchen in a few minutes to make some strawberry jam. Already put up several quarts of whole berries in the freezer and kept a little out for strawberry shortcake.
Locally grown strawberries...mmmm....those store bought berries don't hold a candle to these.

Oh man is it good. I had an extra amount beyond the jars that I planned to can so I just put it in a container and we will eat it first. I let it cool down some and made some toast and put the warm strawberry jam on my toast.
Wow...I had forgotten how good it was. It has been years and years since I canned any strawberry jam.
