Thanks for the support and insightful comments. After rebooting and walking through the process, it now works properly. If anyone wants to do this and is average in "tech-ness" (or less, as in my case!), here's a non-systems analyst’s list of instructions written, I hope, in plain English. Do let me know if you see any snags and I'll be happy to make any needed updates.
Setup: Wireless SD Card Data-Transfer to SleepyHead
The following is a copy of my log that I use for setting up a Wireless SD memory card in my xpap machine so that it can record and wirelessly transfer sleep data to SleepyHead.
The steps below continue to be edited based on experimenting and collaboration with others. Thanks go to Krelvin for getting me started and to mralaska and adipasqu for adding to my understanding. Using TNET Sleep Apnea Information Doc’s and Tips
https://sleep.tnet.com/resources/flashp ... nfig/step2 , I expanded upon or simplied them for my own clarity until wireless card-data successfully transferred into SleepyHead.
A. Preparing the new Wireless SD card
1. Installed in my card reader a new wireless SD card, a Toshiba FlashAir III 8GB W03 Wireless WIFI SD SDHC Class 10 Memory Card priced at $25.60 from eBay.
2. Go to Control Panel, Folder Options, View and select “Show hidden files, folders . . .” Click Apply and OK.
3. Go to and open Computer, select the SD’s card drive and open it.
4. Open SD_WLAN, then open the CONFIG file using Notepad.
5. Change APPMODE value from 4 to 5 and change APPNETWORKKEY value from ******** to your LAN Network Security Key (a.k.a SSID Security Key/password a.k.a. your ISP Network Key) provided by your Internet Service Provider.
6. Add the following line items: APPNAME=APPNAME, APPSSID=NNNNN, LOCK=1, DNSMODE=1, APPAUTOTIME=0, UPLOAD=1, NOISE_CANCEL=2.
7. Change APPSSID value from NNNNN to your home WiFi Network’s Name.
8. Click the File tab and select Save. Then click File again and select Exit.
9. Safely remove the SD card: Open Computer, select the SD’s card drive, right click it, select eject and remove the card.
10. Insert the SD card in your xpap machine. Select “No” if a message appears saying “Invalid SD card, erase SD card data? Yes/No?” Remove the card. Begin using your xpap and then promptly replace the card. Use your xpap for at least 12 minutes to record breathing data.
B. Using FlashPAP software to transfer sleep data from SD to your computer
11. Download and install FlashPAP from
http://www.cognitial.com/flashpap/flashpap.htm
12. Open FlashPAP. Enter APPNAME as Profile/User Name. Select your xPAP Machine type. Click […] and select Scan Network to automatically fill in the card’s IP Address.
13. At the moment I’m testing with an additional standard xD memory card inserted in the computer card reader that I formatted to remove extraneous data. Right click on the card’s drive and select Format. (I would like learn how to bypass use of this additional memory card.)
14. In FlashPAP, click […] for Destination Folder and select the drive used for the xD card in the preceding step.
15. Typical daily operation: Click Scan FlashAir SD card. Today’s date appears as Dates found on card. Select that date and then click Copy xPAP data for selected date(s).
16. Click […] for Exit and run Sleep Tracking Software. Click “Desktop,” then scroll to and click the SleepyHead shortcut. Note: After doing this once, clicking on Exit and run Sleep Tracking Software will open SleepyHead.
C. Use SleepyHead software as usual
17. In SleepyHead, click Import. SH detects the drive to which sleep data was transferred by the FlashAir SD. Click Yes and then click Daily to see detailed graphs of the wirelessly transferred sleep data. If other data already exists in SH for today’s date, use the select/deselect feature in the lower left under Cpap Sessions to display your 12+ minutes of test data by itself.
D. Clean-up
18. To avoid affecting your sleep data results for the day, you can now deselect the 12+ minutes of test data from today’s Cpap Sessions in SH.
19. To restore system file security, return to Control Panel, Folder Options, View and select “Don’t show hidden files, folders . . .” Click Apply and OK.
Notes:
1. If a power loss or other condition interrupts FlashAir card function, remove the card, insert it in your computer card reader, go to C:\FlashAir, copy DCIM, GUPIXINE, SD_WYLAN, paste them into the card’s reader drive, safely remove the card and reinsert it into your xpap. If a message appears, “Invalid SD card, erase SD card data? Yes/No?”, select Yes and wait for the machine to reset.
The above is an early draft work in progress. Questions comments and suggestions are always welcome either by posting or private mail.
