Yeah, I'd probably go with "no".
I figured the answer was no but I thought I would ask anyway. Thanks for sparing me.

Just wanting to point something out:

The relevant part of viewtopic.php?f=1&t=105570&p=999757&hil ... er#p999757 says:
Enchanter wrote:I have experience in staying up for 48 hours, not because I chose to, but because I wasn't able to get to sleep. So this can be a feasible task for me. It sucks it has to be this way, but the doctor, tech, and even my father told me that's what I must do to get this test done.
Is the idea of staying up for 48 hours straight before doing a sleep test really a good idea? What kind of a doctor would recommend such an idea?

As for the father's support of the doctor. Sounds to me like all the father is saying is something that amounts to this: Since the doc won't help you by prescribing a sleeping pill, you just gotta stay up for 48 hours straight to see if that helps you sleep.

In other words, I think people may be reading more into what the father is saying than is there.

Whoa! I never knew they made those (currently)! I got an old antique screen thing that is barely holding together. Mayhaps I shall purchase one of those.

I have to say I find it rather rude the way you all talk about Enchanter on his own thread. If you are going to be rude start your own chat that he probably wouldn't be a part of. I know you have done a lot to help him but I think you have done a lot to insult him as well.

Not so sure I want to remain on this forum when I got my CPAP going and take a chance of being attacked when I am afraid and start to ask questions that made seem stupid to you or that I am questioning your "SAGE" wisdom and advice.

cancun,

A big +1 on this post.

I appreciate the fact that you are brave enough to say this as a new forum member. There are a lot of long time members of the forum who have forgotten what it is like to be a newbie who is full of questions, short on sleep, and not fully functioning because of the untreated OSA. We need to be reminded that the way we treat newcomers to the forum matters greatly to other newcomers and lurkers.

Again, thank you for being brave enough to state this openly.

has there ever been someone like enchanter before? someone whose behavior would, in your words, get them banned on apneaboard for the very behavior you appear to be defending?

I do remember what it was like, and I can't countenance the behavior I've seen here and laugh it off as 'oh, it's just OSA'.

we see newbies all the time that are full of questions, short on sleep and not fully functioning because of untreated OSA.

this ain't that.

Then go see your physician and pay $300 for his SAGE advice.

I respectfully disagree, I think it would be more rude to start a "let's talk about someone's behavior" thread.

it would be the forum equivalent of talking about someone behind their back.

I'm sorry if you don't like the forum, or some of the people (or me) but honestly, it's unrealistic to expect, or demand, that this forum be everything to everyone.

there are other cpap forums and apnea forums out there, and they have different personalities, just as people have different personalities.

draw your own conclusions, and I hope you don't consider this an attack.

I wasn't talking about a new thread, I looked at the "chat" for this forum and it seems no one is really there so it would be pretty private and you could bash away.

Don't get me wrong I have read a lot of what seems to be great advice and true concern on this site and I really appreciate it reading those threads but the Enchanter ones can just be hateful by some of you. Those who already know how much he irritates you I don't understand why you are still being sucked in by him and still responding. Why not respond to those you feel you can help and who are willing to listen to you and your experience and leave Enchanter to those like Roby Sue who have the patience for him.

My father doesn't know my doctor lol. He was just giving me advice since he thinks I might be able to pull it off.

And you know this... how? *Are you a doctor*?? Or, are you saying something YOU feel to be true even though you don't have the slightest idea what is true?

Thanks!
