While not extremely rare (unless you are one of those it happens to and then it doesn't seem so rare )...I don't think it comes anywhere near the 50% category.
I would be of the opinion to go by the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" rule.

I always advise when doing jobs like this - grab your phone and take lots of pictures as you take things apart. If you don't need them, they are easy to delete. If you do need them, they can be invaluable!

it's so easy to pop the cover of the sysone machines, I say, just do it... long shank t20, two screws, gently pull off one knob, and you're in. I'd unplug and replug all the connectors, maybe even take a pencil eraser to the posts to clean them...

call it 'preventative maintenance'.

there's no telling how prevalent this issue is, but it keeps getting repeated.... how many people simply replace their units without ever finding out that's what's wrong?

My Machine was about 4.5 years old. Used most every night. But why fix it if it aint' broken? It is an easy repair thanks to this forum. I would wait. and pictures, which I do as well wouldn't have helped here. It was nothing you could see. I am just glad I got it working. I can't really afford a new one at this point.

In case this hasn't been answered before:

The 750 is the 50 series Auto BiPap
The 760 is the 60 series Auto BiPap

They are very similar machines. The 60 series can accept a heated tube heated humidifier while the 50 series cannot.
There are likely other minor differences between the machines but that is the big one.

Glad things worked out. Just a cautionary note on soldering ANYTHING in close proximity or adjacent to a printed circuit board - especially the board connector to various power sources (as in this case): First be sure to clamp an alligator clip (see link below), a hemostat (roach holder, for those with MJ experience) OR one or two of small needle-nose pliers (w/ a sturdy rubber band around the handles) around the metal area to be soldered. Also make them as close to the area soldered as reasonably possible. This trick will provide a heat sink and keep the heat from the soldering iron from going down into the circuit board and damaging the delicate printed wiring.
