Well I am still getting no where with my therapy. After the first month or so I started being able to sleep with the Simplus FFM, and sometimes with the swift FX and tape, which I MUCH prefer, but now I cannot fall asleep with any CPAP mask at all. The FFM bothers me to no end, mainly the fabric area on the back of the head, seemingly no matter how loosely I try to keep it (at the point of leaks of course), and I just simply never fall asleep on the SwiftFX and tape, no matter how long I lie there. I have tried Melatonin 3mg and 6mg to no avail. This all seemed to get worse when I LOST weight, going from around 185 to now 165-170. It was suggested to me that my pressure may be too high now at my lower weight. I want to just go ahead and lower the auto range on my Remstar 560 from starting at 10 down to 7 or so and see how that goes. How do I make that change myself?

Can you post your data? It may be that something needs adjustment, but data will tell.

I use Lansinoh lanolin cream (in a purple tube). You can find it in the baby/nursing mother section of the drug store. I can't sleep without it!

I cant really post any data since there really is none. I have not gone to sleep with it in weeks. I try every night for 30 min or so, after trying for a few hours for a while. Now if I dont go to sleep that fast, I give up. I want to change the pressure and see how that goes with the Swift.

Please don't get in the habit of sleeping without your mask. I know it's a long, frustrating journey--mine was! It took a year and a half of sleepless nights and countless trips to the doctor's office from my first CPAP set-up before I ended up on ASV and started getting some sleep. I took my Sleepyhead printouts to the appointments and had the doctor look closely at whatever details that I found questionable. Otherwise, he would have overlooked them and sent me on my way. After 6 months on ASV I still wasn't sleeping well enough, so I started taking pulse-ox reports to my doctor and he put me on oxygen at night. I finally began to feel better (after 2 years).

The moral of the story is for you to not to give up. There is a workable solution for you out there. You just need to persevere. Don't let your doctor off the hook until you feel that your therapy is where it should be!

Yeah my Dr. sucks too. If I get on ASV, which I think i need, if I ever get the mask working again, it will probably be because I found a kind soul on here selling new or barely used ones for a price I could afford.

But I would really like to lower my pressure and see what happens.
