Stop the cat coming into the bedroom... lock the door!
Sure the cat will be annoyed for a couple days/weeks or years, but better than it turning off your machine

We have lots of cats and have not had problems with them regarding medical equipment (my late dad was on oxygen, my disabled bro has a Bipap). You could be right that the cat is bothered by the medical equipment. To start with, put something OVER the machine. In my bro's case, we had a multi-level nightstand - he kept his machine on the lower level and there wasn't enough room for the cat to stand on it or press any buttons.
As far as tubes and masks, he is simply trying to get your attention. Cats are not stupid. If they identify a way to get you to do what THEY want, they exploit it. So, if they are expecting you to feed them, you have to stop doing that in the middle of the night. My family member FINALLY learned to stop getting up at night to feed the little varmints. After a couple of weeks, they stopped bugging her. If she had never got up in the middle of the night to feed them, she would never have had the problem.
I do sympathize. It took me years to figure out that my cat was chewing on my aquarium hose only to get my attention. I was in my 20s and just hadn't figured out that cats like control as they are seeking to take over the Earth. Eventually, when it struck me what she was up to, I started trimming her nails whenever she would chew (or attempt to chew) on aquarium hose. She left the hose alone and found other, less destructive, methods to annoy me when she wanted something.
