I use an extension cord and tuck everything in between the wall and mattress but see your point!

I'd rather not put dual lock on the nightstand as it would probably ruin the finish if I every had to take it off.
Packaging for the dual lock claims it will support 2.2lbs per square inch. I am using two 1" x 3" strips so 13lbs of support. Way more than I need but the machine sure is sturdy up there. It'll probably stay firmly attached even with trailer in tow. I had little problem removing it when pulling from the correct angle. It was a great suggestion, thanks, I am very pleased with the results.

I read this with interest and filed it away for the future, which came a few days ago - the face of a cabinet in our trailer fell off, with no way to nail it back without a big project and I remembered this post - we get lots more info here than just apnea info. Long story short, after googling the 3m dual lock, I found several people who said the industrial strength Velcro is as good if not better, so used that, and I think you could build a house with that stuff - no glue could stick like that.
