Now THAT is pretty slick.

Will abruptly killing the power risk data corruption on the SD card? When using the on/off button I see I/O activity on the card for a few extra seconds.

I think cutting power can cause loss of the current night's detailed waveform data.

There is a solution that will solve all your concerns, we just need to think of it. Corner shelves support a lot of weight with minimal support because they are suspended on two walls. You might even put this up with dual locks.

You might be able to screw a shelf on some standoffs under the cabinet up against the wall. Put it low enough that you can reach up and push the start/stop button from the bed. Pad it underneath to keep you from banging your head, but if mounted correctly, you might not have a problem with hitting your head because as you sit up, your head will naturally move away from the back wall.

On your PRS1 machine, you can set it to auto-start so you don't have to mess with the machine to turn it on. Unfortunately, auto-off is rather "weak" on a PRS1 machine and takes a long time before it shuts off, so there would be air rushing sounds for about 90 seconds if you take off the mask.

auto-off is not simply weak, it doesn't exist.

I am really leaning toward plan A with 3M Dual Lock on the bottom of the machine. That should give me really easy access and the least intrusive footprint.
I ordered some precut strips and will MacGyver it this weekend. I'll post a photo of the results.

Muchas dankes for all the suggestions.

if you got the VHB style, be careful to put it where you're sure you're going to want it... they use that stuff to stick railcars together

I picked up a sampler pack of vhb strips and duallock a while back... dat shit's sticky!

What do you mean? It's in the clinician's menu on my 550 machine. If I disconnect the mask, the machine shuts off in about 90 seconds.

Are you just going to be a troll, or do you have some useful information to divulge?

if I'm "trolling" by correcting your mis-information, then so be it.

if you didn't assume that a 550 was the same as a 960, you might find out that there's no auto-off on a 960, like I said in the first place. I tried to lead you to the truth. *shrug* I think Uncle Flapp already knows not to waste time looking for an auto-off setting on his 960, others don't.

eh, you're right, I'm sorry, I shouldn't try to nudge you into finding out stuff for yourself, attempting to lead you to an understanding of where you were wrong, I should just say "the 960 doesn't have auto off". I figured you'd just argue with me after saying that, too, perhaps I was wrong.

It's interesting that the 960 doesn't have auto-off. The 950 has auto-off, at least according to the manual. I don't have a 960 manual. Have they removed auto-off from any other models?

I can confirm. Auto-on is in the setup but not auto-off (nor is it in the manual).

A plan! Dual Lock strips on the way.

Not to my knowledge. Apparently only the 960 model has auto off no longer being available.
My 660 and 760 both have it still available and it works after a lag time of around 60 seconds (but it seems a lot longer ) I did put a stop watch timer to it once to check it out.

Tatooedlady suggests sticking it on the wall, painting it green, and calling it a frog!
