As an FYI, what a sleep doctor finds as adequate pressure for a one night sleep study titration can many times be wrong since obviously, we don't sleep the same every night. Many doctors/sleep professionals like to claim that is the gold standard measurement but it isn't by a long shot. That is why it is so important to install sleepyhead so you can see what the data looks like over several nights which gives you a better idea as what pressure/pressure range might work the best.

Waking once a night verses three times a night -- I wouldn't overly focus on that. How do you feel during the day? Were you tired during the day pre CPAP? Or are you more tired now post CPAP? There isn't necessarily a correlation between how many times we wake up (of which we are aware) and energy/sleepiness during the day. The thing with sleep apnea is that your body never really gets fully rested and restored even if you are sleeping. You miss deep sleep. You miss opportunity for the recharge/repair which happens during sleep. I suspect that this is even the case as you get used to CPAP, as it likely takes a bit of time to a) get used to it and b) get the setting at optimal level. Maybe you are even getting more restful sleep and your body is so unused to that so that it wakes up after a few hours? Dunno.

I was worried about not sleeping much or as deeply during the sleep study. I had a hard time sleeping even though it was a home sleep study. I hated all of the connections and was anxious about "trying" to sleep. I was surprised the sleep study caught enough sleep to diagnose moderate sleep apena. Of course, catching 6 of 7 hours of sleep doesn't give full picture of what is happening all of the time. If anything, I would thing my apnea is probably worse when I am not all hooked up to machines. The good thing is that software gives you the information to tweak CPAP so it works for you. For some people, the results and/or adjustment time is quick; other people take a longer time getting used to it.

If you spent more time here, you would know that most people like to post about themselves and their experiences. In the process, they often provide a great deal of help to others. So you should get over it.

I would say before the CPAP I had pretty good energy and with the CPAP it is about the same...cant tell a difference.

Hi Alex,

You're getting there, but what people need to see is the detailed daily graphs, not the summary data. In the instructional page you were sent to at https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgur you want the screen with the pie chart on the left and all of the detail graphs on the right. The way you do that is to upload it and then copy the link to the page with the image.

Then, in your post, click on the box at the top that says "Img" in it and paste your link in between the Img tags. This will cause the image to appear within your post, rather than a link to the image appearing as you did.

Step 1: upload the detailed daily charts to an image hosting service.
Step 2: add Img tags to your post to make the images appear within your post.

Sorry Alex what you posted is NO help.. I think you just post the initial page going into sleepyhead. You need to click on the daily tab in SleepyHead to get the details.

We need to see the line graphs to see what is going on to help you.
