By all means, CPAPs should be considered on PRICE ALONE,,,,,not whether the patient is actually COMPLIANT using it or whether the patient is more comfortable with a particular device or mask. Let alone what SPECIFIC qualities or design patents one machine has over another. Forget all of that and let's just worry about price!

WE are talking about the REMstar APAP M, here possiably the second finest APAP in the World Here! The old REMstar APAP being the Best, in my opinion.

Price is ICING on the CAKE!

BTW: In that sites ad it says that the new "M", doesn't Auto set for elevation, My old one does, so I guess they have made a change, backwards.

It is a special pleasure to slap that old mask on at night knowing that the other end of the hose is connected to the Respironics APAP. I really love that machine.

There is no need for an "M" or even jumping in to bash Resmed.....The current Respironics APAP does it all!

I DOES look like the new M auto DOES report therapy stats on the LCD. Glad that Respironics finally figured out how to catch up to ResMed. Now, if they would only drop the Oreck-wannabe design team!

I totally agree with goofproof (Jim)! Why would you support another online vender ( unless insurance dictats a certain DME or provider) when cpap.com is the best out there, pays for and supports this site and forum, and also helps to support our guys & gals serving our country! Being a veteran, as many here are, I look for and support a company which not only does RIGHT by it's customers but also does RIGHT by supporting his country! Johnny Goodman does THAT and more! My guess David is that yours is a C-flex model and his was "non-C-flex". Just a guess. He has a model one older than you. So, you're actually agreeing with him, as opposed to "not so".

I can see where .2 might seem like a big deal to some. But then again, I think an 8 setting is "barely on" so that's my 2 cents worth. Some people think a 6 is just right.

Actually the relief, according to REMstar is based on Your own exhaust force, the harder you exhale the more relief. It's not based in a set pressure relief, so their is no set point. Jim

Or perhaps they realized that the difference in treatment effectiveness between .2 and .5 steps was not significant enough to offset the additional costs of trying to control the pressure to the .2 steps. Truth be told, most XPAP machines are only accurate to +or- 1cmH2O.
