I paid for this out of pocket and it's really no one's business but mine. I'm fine with taking my SD card into the doc. The point is, they don't need it. Deceptive as hell.
Make a point to withdraw your consent for them to access your machine's data at MyAir or wherever.....in writing......unless you specifically give them the SD card yourself.
Put it in writing and give a copy to your doctor and DME and keep a copy yourself.
They can put it on your chart that no one has permission to access the data remotely and if they do....they could get in big trouble.

If they can see your data remotely, they can probably change your settings remotely - I wouldn't like that one bit.

Yeah, that thought went through my mind as well. I just don't see the humor though. I paid for this out of pocket and it's really no one's business but mine. I'm fine with taking my SD card into the doc. The point is, they don't need it. Deceptive as hell. All that my manual says is to turn airplane mode on. Bull.
More likely, they had *someone else's data*, and just thought it was yours.

No, it was my data. It matched perfectly what my machine reads in clinical view.

Pugsy, I will be raising the issue. Thanks. Not that I trust them now...

Granny- not cool. I agree. I'm not overly concerned about anyone messing with the machine, but what I am annoyed about is the deception.

I would be returning this machine if I could. It's passed the return date, so I can't. I'd like to toss it in the trash! Why the deception?

The return date is arbitrary...It's at then discretion of the DME. They get credit from the Mfg.

DME- durable medical equipment. How is that a person? Is that where I bought the machine or the manufacturer?

The place or business that supplied the machine to you is what we refer to as the DME.
So I supposed technically it would be DME provider but there's always a human involved so we refer to it that way.

Gotcha. Thanks. I can try, but they had a return policy of 30 days. However, this was not as described. So, I may have a shot. I like the machine otherwise. Any idea about a good replacement? Is there one where I can see my own data each night without having it sent mysteriously to others?

I'm curious to see if this is ever resolved. It seems very suspicious to me that the DME would make the effort (since the OP paid them out of pocket) to do what's necessary to give access to his doctor (I guess, based on the prescription information) so that they can gain access to the data from the machine. There are way too many "moving parts" in this process to work so flawlessly. Not to mention the OP trying to keep it disabled/turned off. I'd also be curious to hear whether CPAP.com does that when people buy machines from them (I doubt it very much).

For the record, I never signed up or registered for My Air or anything like it. I've never given permission for data sharing.

Did you actually unplug from the circuit board?

District Attorney's office got a warrant for my data
They used it to show that I was not home asleep as my alibi suggested. Now I get to use a state issued cpap for the next 10 to 15 years.

I'm curious as to which machine/model they issue? Do you have a chance to use the library to download and analyze your data?
