Calling your attention to
the red letters.
Why do you only post to argue with people? YOU don't even have a cpap -
"Whale Road" just 1 of many usernames to argue about nit noid things and derail yet another thread.

Get Respironics instead.
If you actually read his post, you will see he has already purchased a ResMed machine.
This is what was actually posted by *Pnh* ...

I don't like this at all. I haven't received my machine yet, so hopefully Resmed has provided an easier way to disable it. Some of the functionality is useful, but you should have a choice. I did authorize some access, however, I declined that the info could be stored on US or European servers. We shall see what happens (all of this, including purchase was online during Covid). I particularly object to US servers because the privacy laws in the US are so weak and subject to gross misuse. Afterall, the FBI and the multitude of spy agencies in the US spy on their own citizens regularly, imagine how little they care about foreigners.
This is what I actually wrote ....

The only ResMed provided solution is to turn on airplane mode.

Get Respironics instead. I was able to remove the modem board before powering it on and w/o taking a screw out. It slides right out after lifting a cover.
PS. Maybe future readers will have the same problem or question.

This entire thread is about the delusion of "somebody" hacking into your cpap machine.
Not only is this EXTREMELY unlikely, but this kind of thinking is self-destructive.
We are thoroughly tired of all this silliness.
Please take a pill . . .

I interpreted his post as him having bought the device online, but hadn't received it yet.

Hey, there are conspiracy theorists. 15 pages of posts, and it will never end.

Well.....if I see any more snotty snarky comments between people that don't really help anyone....I can fix it so it ends at 15 pages.
I am not in any mood for pissing contests.
I will lock this thread in a heartbeat.
People.....state your opinion and move on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but quit the pissing contest "discussions" that help no one and irritate the hell out of me.
Quit bitching because someone dared to disagree with whatever opinion you offered.
ResMed AirSense 10 machines....easy to stop their transmitting anything....airplane mode. Simple, easy and it works.

My Philips DreamStation has a removable cellular modem which I guess would make it easy for the tinfoil hat crowd but I don’t have an issue with it “phoning home”.
If you have a smartphone, it’s already sending out your location and all sorts of other data to various apps you use.

If you put your ResMed 10 is in Airplane Mode...
If you're required to turn on for verification, does it show your past usage?

I'm going on MEDICARE next year (YEA), will they provide a new unit if needed?
Thanks to all those who posted...

I don't believe anyone should have your personal info, but I can't afford to buy the machine...so I may have to concede 🤬

I think it will upload anything it has, but I'm not entirely sure.
There are some DMEs who will accept a usage/compliance printout from your own analysis software - I'm working with one of those DMEs now, because my insurance insists on periodic evidence of use as a condition for paying for supplies. They're content with that printout - I'm not sending them data cards.
