I will take the easier way as long im not going to get sick every month like I have been...probably because of the cpap. Although I am going to continue to use it because I do feel better when I use the cpap. Just tired of going to the dr every month to get an antibiotic

If you want to SERIOUSLY attack germs on your CPAP, get two sets of hoses, masks, and water tanks. Once a week, clean the bejesus out of one set of your stuff, use the Control III on it, rinse, dry, and then set the clean stuff aside somewhere clean and dry for a week while you use the other stuff.

If you're using the unheated hose, they're cheap. Get several and swap them out.

A spare A10 dishwashable tank is around $33 plus shipping at our host, cpap.com.

Once again, tell us what mask you have and we may be able to give you help on cleaning the mask.

BTW, change your air filter on the back of the machine, just for the heck of it, although that probably has nothing to do with it. A dirty filter usually cleans air better than a clean one, but it restricts air flow more.

What do you do and where are you the other 16 (or so) hours of the day?
With the CPAP, you're breathing filtered, humidified (hopefully with distilled water) air during the hours you're using the machine. Sometimes "over-cleaning" this stuff can present problems. You (presumably) didn't live in a "sterile" environment before you started on this therapy and now you're breathing better air during your sleep time and you're wanting to blame that. "That's not logical, Captain Kirk."

I grew up and spent the first 25 years of my life in the eastern part. I left shortly after the Devaney era.

I dishwash my masks and water tank every week and swap them out. I've been doing this for about 10 years and have had pretty good lifetime on my masks and tanks.

I do wash my CPAP stuff separately from my dishes. I use normal dishwashing powder and the hottest "sanitize" cycle on my machine with an extra rinse.

There are some sanitizing instructions for ResMed masks in the useful links in my signature line. They're intended for sleep labs, but one of the methods of sanitizing is immersion in hot water at specified temperatures.

So you think it is ok to put the water reservoir in the dishwasher even though ResMed says NOT to wash in the dishwasher?

I worked at the training table my freshman year. All the men's sports ate there.
Bob Devaney was boss, but wasn't there much. I saw a lot of the guys from the mid 60's.
