Actually, what you are reporting may be due to airflow through your tear ducts. Stanford was recently conducting a research study on this very issue with CPAP users through their ophthalmology department.

Air leakage through the puncta is quite uncommon, but it is about time that there was some actual research.
Sadly, it was probably only done to promote yet another expensive drug!

I used to get that crust around my eyes whether I had mask leaks or not. I started using Onyx sleep goggles and haven't had a problem since that change, plus my eyes feel more refreshed when I wake up. The Onyx goggles may take several days to get used to. It's never a bad idea to see an eye doctor tho, just to be on the safe side.

I tried the quartz goggles. Too bad they were too large.
It would have helped if the center bridge were adjustable.
I guess that would be too easy . . .
