Let me add my vote for the ruby red. It works well and is comfortable. But they do stretch and wear out over time, so my advice is to only get the adjustable ones with the velcro closures because they also have fixed small, medium, and large sizes. My damn DME was always sending me the wrong one or some stupid single-strap thing that was never going to stay in place!

As the ruby red stretches out, and it will, you can compensate using the velcro closures and use if for a long after a fixed size one would have gotten too stretched to hold your mouth closed. The adjustable ones come in regular and extra large, which was the right size for me. I was surprised that the amazon reviews weren't higher but then some people seemed to be looking for a miracle snore-curing device or something!

Another vote for the red...... My machine had a smiley face this morning meaning few leaks I guess. My Air score was 85 for last night. I guess 100 is impossible?

I like the Rudy Red as well- the adjustable one. If a patient does not want 'that much stuff' on their head I will let them try the Respironics Premium chinstrap and that seems to work ok. It really depends on the pt, hair style-some people with real fine hair the chinstraps move while coarse hair seem to stay on better, etc..
You have to try a few before deciding. If you have a DME ask them to show you some.

My DME is difficult to contact. I did order the Ruby Red adjustable from Amazon for little over $15. Also order a hose holder. I may file a claim with my provider as out of network. Pay 25% instead of 20%.

I just stoped at the drugstore and got a cervical collar to try tonight .... many people say it works better than a chin strap ... I will see.

Another YES vote for the Ruby Red ... with velcro. Sure, I look like I'm getting ready for a wrestle but it works! And I love my new AirFit P10.
Just coming up to two years on CPAP. Dry mouth has been an issue for me, and a FFM isn't an option because of another medical condition. So I use the chin strap and a xylimet tab every night. Very few problems with leaks and dry mouth now.

I used to jam the hose in between the mattress and headboard to try to hold it in place, but the stand works great and brings the hose in from the top, where it's out of the way. It has an elastic cord inside so it can be pulled out and it swivels very easily. The elastic cord goes through all the sections even when you break it down into pieces, so it practically puts itself together. I have seen more expensive stands, but this one does everything you need and at a great price - recommended! You slide the flat portion in between your mattress and boxspring and that holds it in place - no hardware. So you can put it on either side of the bed, head of the bed, or wherever works best for you.

I used to get mad at the quality, as they would start fraying and falling apart after a few months. But the new and improved version has been doing well...as well as being available for as little as just $10.99 through Amazon.

I picked that one too, yaconsult. Hope it works good for me. I want to get the heated hose but now am using a 10' hose. Stand will help with it.

I looked at that one too but decided to stick with the ruby red as I have had them a few times and know how comfortable they are. Yours looks like it would work fine, but the ruby spreads the force over a much larger area of the head so I think that, for me, it is more comfortable. I like the fact that there are no straps or anything close to my ears. But, just like masks, we are all different and what works for one might not work for another. I'm just glad that we can get them for a reasonable price on amazon. I think the DME price for the same thing was at least $30.

I'm like you and don't like any straps etc. near or on the ears. With a DME and Medicare, it should be less. (If you have medicare/insurance) Normally Medicare is you pay 20%. I too price on Amazon and Ebay.

Been a user of Ultimate chin strap since I found some reviews for it here (http://sleepapneasolutionsinc.com/). Works for me but some people are not fans.

By the way, its a bit on the expensive side, but I like it.

Fred, the way I see it, if something works for you, it is well worth it. For me, I swapped masks and have had good results the last two nights. Don't want to put to much into straps until I checks some out.
