I was wondering that myself. When I installed 7 zip I didn't get the malware and I didn't do an advanced install. I just did a typical install.

My initial thought was he did a search for it online. There are probably lots of sites there waiting to help themselves.

I just downloaded 7zip from the links posted on the Sleepfile.com site. All of the files in the image posted by Krelvin are from 7zip.org. However, on the right side of the page are links to files that look like they belong here, but may not be safe. Those files are hosted on links from a thread on Soundforge

I could have chosen the one on the right. That would be because I was not familiar with a .msi file, only .exe. I probably downloaded both. I believe I could not get the one to work properly and used the other, which had the taplika files added. I must have missed it the first time and it said load all. This last time I went to advanced settings and that is where the taplika files are loaded. You have an option in advanced to decline and uncheck them. I suppose what everyone should look for when loading any files is the advanced settings. At least see what they say. I have the software loaded and running fine now so my only mention is for anyone else who "could" have a similar problem in the future. I do know at one point it would not open and directed me to Microsoft to see what program opens it and their link leads to the one with the taplika files. Hopefully this is cleared up now for everyone.

^^I tried that again and am not seeing all the links that everyone else is. I'm going to try a different computer later, have to go work now. I'll get back and let you know if that works.

It's probably a different site. I clicked your link on the page and did not see anything on the right then. I don't think changing computers will change anything only changing sites.

I'm not sure what site you are comparing this with. When I click on it it goes to the main Sleepyhead site for the latest version. The picture that Sleeprider posted was for the 7zip site which you can navigate to on the Sleepyhead page by looking at the bottom of the Sleepyhead downloads. There are 2 different sites the Sleepyhead site and the 7zip site which has some beta links on the right which I would ignore and go the the main download box.

"I'm not sure what site you are comparing this with."...I 'm not comparing it to anything, just reporting what I see. It must be a problem with my computer.

When I click that link it goes to a page that says "Download list is currently unavailable ....This is just a temporary fault, please check back later."

I assume the links everyone else is seeing is in place of that. It also has a section "news" that is now empty. Used to be a blue box with notes in it.

I see no links to anything at all.

I tried a different computer and that works. I am seeing the links to the different versions of sleepyhead but I do not see the 7zip link which I have anyway now.

Is the 64 bit the best version for me to download? Or is the 32 bit more stable? I am using Windows 7/64 on both my laptops.

If I were running a 64 bit windows, I would get the 64 bit version. While it is sometimes possible to run a 32 bit version program on a 64 bit computer, it would be best to get the 64 bit when available. Conclusion 64 bit is best for a 64 bit system.

The 64 bit version is missing Microsoft Visual Basic files and will generate an error on startup. The 32 bit version is easier for that reason. You can install those files, by getting Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

Are you using NoScript or something similar in your browser? Disabling javascript will get you that error message.

Not sure how that became my quote when it was actually jonc123's quote. It was never my problem or words. Interesting how words can be changed around.
