Any side-sleepers who have experience with this mask??? Thanks.
Your bed pillow will probably be more of a factor in pushing masks out of alignment than the type of mask that's used.
There have been numerous discussions regarding bed pillows on the forum and many people have their own particular favorites.
Mine is in my profile (below). Some people like the ones filled with buckwheat hulls, others like a piece of foam and carved to their liking with an electric knife. There have been a number of pillows designed for this therapy and some just work better than others. Standard fiberfill pillows are terrible.
I'm a dedicated side-sleeper with a full face mask, but have never used the mask you're asking about.

Den, I'm interested in possibly purchasing a Chiroflow, do you find that it is a more firm pillow or soft or does that only get influenced by the amount of water added? Also you said that some CPAP designed pillows work better than others, can you elaborate a touch?? Thanks in advance.
I use the F10 mask and am a side sleeper. I have found this pillow to be very comfortable:

It's a buckwheat pillow that can be customized by adding or subtracting material from the inside. It works very well with my full face mask.

I also have found the soft cap headgear to be very effective in eliminating leaks, if that seems to be a problem for you. This headgear holds the mask firmly in place without needing to be tight. No side shifting.

Funny. The 431 is one of the ffm's I have thought about trying. I have jaw drop that makes these newer masks sometimes slide onto my lips, and the under chin feature of the 431 looked promising. I thought cervical device like the other poster mentioned, but solved it with a little tape to keep things closed. This worked well for me. I will still get around to the 431 as I like to try things.

There's a lot of nice design in these newer ffm's. A little more benchmarking of each other and some custom features and maybe we'll find that elusive perfection.

Best,

Mike

Thanks for the detailed evaluation. With almost every mask I have tried, some component of the frame contacted the pillow with side sleeping and tended to dislodge the mask and break the seal.

I have used Quattro Air and F10, and have had great success with both of them. I much prefer the F10 as it doesn't have the forehead strap. I do not have difficulty with slippage as a side sleeper, and rarely have leaks above the red line on Sleepyhead... lately the leak line has been really flat. I do use a Tempurpedic pillow(high end memory foam), but was using it prior to the apnea diagnosis and it has worked well for me. Sometimes I detect leaking and just push my face into the pillow where it's leaking, and that seals it up.. that rarely happens now, it happened mostly in the weeks after I purchased the F10 and was adjusting to it.

Jaw drop might be just the thing with the 431. Sometimes I can stop a leak by thrusting my lower jaw forward a bit. Of course, then I fall asleep and my jaw relaxes and that’s the end of that.

Yes, I have been using a fairly firm memory foam pillow for a number of years – helped a lot.

Me as well. I found it really helped. It's nice to have the distinctive edges to hang stuff off. Poly fill pillows and my traditional latex were awful with the F10 and probably most masks. I do have a Cpapmax pillow on hand and it looks promising. It's in a sealed plastic bag so you can give it a small trial without fully committing. One side is memory foam.

Best,

Mike
