Welcome, chicyb. Please sign up for an ID and fill in the equipment on your profile, so we can help you better. There are instructions in my signature line.

Sometimes "personality" problems are apnea related. Apnea can cause poor sleep, stress, tiredness, brain damage, hormonal problems, heart problems, etc. All of these can lead to depression, short temper, etc. If nothing else, just think about how unpleasant we all get if we don't get enough sleep. Apnea causes all that and more.

CPAP is a miracle cure for some and takes a while to work for some people. Some people never feel better, but CPAP is still a good idea because, even if you don't feel better with CPAP.

One thing to watch out for. Even if you cure your physical problems, your brain and mind may be stuck in your "tired and worn out" patterns of behaviour. You may need to consciously make the effort to get up and do things you didn't have the energy for before. You tend to get stuck in the rut.

I had a heart attack back when I was 40. I'm 47 now. Make good/healthy changes so that your children and wife can enjoy you longer.
