Never bothered with chin straps... Started with a FFM from the beginning (even during the first sleep study 8+ years ago). Different masks provide different levels of adjustment though.

My favorite mask is an F&P 432, which actually hooks under my chin.. It gives me the most mouth movement than any other I have used. You still can't open your mouth wide, like yawning, but it is pretty forgiving.

The other mask I use is the Quattro Air which sits between my bottom lip and chin. It allows my lips to open which I do naturally when I sleep, but opening my mouth even a bit causes it to shift up towards my bottom lip. When using it, I have a tendency to pull it down several times during the night. It is more roundish than longish.
